This afternoon I joined over 75 Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) and Controlled Environment Building Association (CEBA) members kicked off the 2024 GCCA Canadian Cold Chain Connection 🇨🇦 gathering at the White Oaks Resort in Niagara-On-The-Lake, ON. Philip Baldwin of GCCA’s Canadian advocacy partner TACTIX Government Relations and Public Affairs provided an update key issues impacting the national/ provincial legislative and regulatory priorities. GCCA member panel with moderator Marko Dzeletovich (Coldbox Builders CEBA Chairman) and panelists Richard Patenaude (Congebec Inc. /GCCA Transportation Vice Chairman), Ken MacLean (Lineage and Chris McGuire (Americold Logistics, LLC.) addressed customer trends, talent and culture management, energy management, technology innovation, industrial real estate scarcity, and industry efforts to reduce food waste and loss. Interactive attendee table discussions and report outs covered key issues like labour, energy, regulation compliance, cyber security, supply chain disruptions and more.
