Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

About us

Girl Scouts develops leaders through the three keys to leadership - discover, connect, and take action. Girl Scout troops are not the only way to be a Girl Scout. Virtual troops and other short-term program activities also available. Girl Scout activities include topic areas such as science, technology, the environment, healthy living, anti-bullying and financial literacy. Girl Scouts also do community service and travel, plus the well-known camp and cookie programs are still around! Open to girls in K-12 grades. Volunteers are the heart of the Girl Scout organization! Whether you can give an hour, a day or a week, you will be remembered for a lifetime as a Girl Scout volunteer. Girl Scout volunteer positions vary from office work to program activities with girls. Volunteers in Girl Scouts also gain marketable skills that can benefit them in ways beyond Girl Scouting, such as your job search. Men and women volunteers ages 18+ welcome. Congratulations to Girl Scouts of Colorado CEO Leanna Clark and Gold Award Girl Scout Morgaine Wilkins-Dean for being recognized by the Denver Business Journal as outstanding leaders. The Denver Business Journal has honored a Gold Award Girl Scout as a Future Outstanding Woman in Business at this ceremony for the past three years in a collaborative effort to raise awareness of the amazing work Girl Scouts do through earning Highest Awards. The Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouts and is earned only by a high school aged Girl Scout who addresses an issue she is passionate about in a way that produces meaningful and lasting change on a local, national, and/or global level. Morgaine's Gold Award project involved a yearlong effort to educate families about Colorado Safe Storage laws to reduce gun violence at schools. In addition, this year Girl Scouts of Colorado CEO Leanna Clark is among the 26 Outstanding Women in Business honorees at the 25th anniversary of the Outstanding Women in Business event. Leanna has been leading Girl Scouts of Colorado since 2020. During her time here, she has grown programming for girls, including mental wellbeing programming and STEM programming through her community partner connections, led transformational change at the national level by opening the first Girl Scout DreamLab here in Denver, and has helped to diversify revenue streams for the organization by helping to double growth in personal and corporate giving to Girl Scouts of Colorado.

To address this, she crafted a curriculum centered on healthy habits, incorporating academic and social-emotional topics via video modules. The Gold Award is the Highest Award you can earn in Girl Scouts. Read more about Alexa's experience in completing her Gold Award project here: https://bit.ly/3yMGfpR

"Angela is a third-generation lifetime Girl Scout and believes we all have the power to inspire confidence and courage in the next generation. Whether you’ve been a mentor or have had one, you understand the profound impact it can have on both lives. Sharing the Girl Scout experience with your peers is essential to belonging and building successful, long-term relationships!" - Angela Roberts
