Our friends from ZF came out and helped sort donations, assemble some boxes and get our barrels ready for the School Food Drive Challenge that’s right around the corner! We couldn’t do what we do without community partners like this!

There will be a community food distribution next Wednesday, October 18, at UNG's Oakwood Campus. Stop by to pick up fresh produce, frozen proteins, and Chick-fil-A sandwiches!

Meet Rebecca Davis! Rebecca serves as GMFB's Food Procurement Coordinator and has been at the Food Bank for a little less than a year. Rebecca's favorite thing about being part of the GMFB team is seeing the impact the Food Bank can have in people's lives and knowing that she can help be part of solving the problem of food scarcity. When Rebecca isn't at work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, traveling, crafting cocktails, and thrifting. We are so glad Rebecca joined the GMFB team!

As always, Boplan was “Ready for Impact”, and brought a great team in last week to support GMFB. They helped us clean up the week and fill some shelves in the warehouse! We love our Boplan family!

Meet Eric Thurman! Eric is our warehouse and agency orders associate, and he has been on the GMFB team for a little under a year. His favorite thing about being at the Food Bank is getting to work with this awesome team. Eric is married to Rebecca and has two grown children, one step-son, and a beautiful granddaughter. In his spare time, he enjoys kayak fishing and visiting the panhandle of Florida. We are glad you're at GMFB, Eric!

A few of our Starbucks friends stopped by GMFB last week to see how they could help and ended up staying with our very own A-Team for a couple of hours to sort and assemble boxes. We look forward to seeing them again soon! Starbucks

GMFB was thrilled to be the recipient of a $10,000 grant from Publix Super Market Charities! This money will be used in support of our food rescue program. We are so grateful for the support of amazing organizations like Publix Charities! Publix Super Markets

The Kroger team came in last week to sort through some salvaged food from our retail partners and helped pack it up to get into inventory. What a great group! Kroger

We were thankful to have South Hall Rotary come in last week to do our last bowl painting party of the year prior to Empty Bowl! Our bowl painting parties will start up again in early spring, so be on the lookout for information in 2024 on how you and your friends, company, or group can participate in fighting hunger while painting bowls!
