Happy Freedom Day! Juneteenth celebrates the end of legal slavery in the United States. As an organization that serves communities across the Southeast, we know how important it is to look back at our region's history and examine the ways it still has an impact today. While Juneteenth is a celebration, we also want to recognize the ways in which there is still work to do and how the legacy of slavery impacts the people we serve every day.

There are a lot of complicated emotions and challenges people face when caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or other dementia. It’s vital that caregivers have their own support system and access to specialized resources. We want to thank the caregivers – the most important, yet often overlooked member of patients’ care teams. However, we don’t believe in just saying “thank you.” We believe in taking action and providing support.
