What Clients Have Said: “Therapy, except for organizations.” - Behavioral Health Client “You offer something different. Our school district has worked with consultants and facilitators before, we hired you to do something very specific, and we are doing that. The difference is you provide a space for everyone’s voices to be heard and for us, as a team to engage by identifying common themes so all are shaping the future together.” - School District Superintendent “I appreciate the real talk, tough love, and smiles of encouragement genuinely from each of you and all of the generosity and wisdom you share with us." - Non-profit CEO "[Generative Consultants] were very successful in illuminating values of the organization as a basis for creating action and generating results." -University Fraternity Mentor

This is a part of our commitment to bring our client trends, research, & other resources to you. 🌎Our team works in all sectors across the globe. This video clip is from of my (Andrea L. Bordenca ) consulting client work. There are particular trends that show up that have helped inform how I as CEO of DESCO Service have shifted our conversations, how we engage from a systems standpoint & who & how we provide opportunities to. DESCO is STEM business, which is currently male dominated. ⏯️The clip here is a few minutes of a longer video about working across generations & how Gen Z & Millennials are shaping how we work. Because of my client work, I’m able to get to know my own biases as a CEO. 📊It’s allowed me to engage my organizations & my clients’ organizations in growth & retention. 🔐If you’d like our consulting team to bring our eyes & ears to your organization & help you identify opportunities for increasing engagement & growth, we’re here! ❤️🔥We have both Spanish & English speakers & listeners 🤗 #growth #culture #increasingopportunities #equity #retention #fourthindustrialrevolution

🗣️ Assessments, we make them all the time. Sometimes we think our assessments are facts. They are not. ❌These are not true or false, but a reflection of how we relate to the world. 🔆Assessments reveal more about the observer than the thing being assessed. 🌎 We can develop competence in making assessments and move into the future in a more grounded & generative way. 🖊️ If a story is not serving the outcomes we are seeking, we can take an assessment that we have and come up with a counter assessment. 💯We all encounter situations when others’ have different assessments for the same situation. ❓Why? People have different standards. 🆘When leaders don’t make standards explicit, there’s lots of different interpretations. ♨️ There is also the emotional component. 🪢And, assessments & emotions are connected. When is the last time you expressed that something was nice or beautiful in a bad mood? 👀 😒 If you want to design a different mood look at your assessments. 🫦Assessments give us the opportunity to create mutually benefcial & powerful relationships. They represent how we show up and how we are being perceived. 😈On the flip side, we often give people permission to assess us in certain areas that they dont have permission or latitude, could be our parents, spouses, in laws, people in the community… ❌We can decline others assessments & NOT grant permission. This paves the path for more ☮️ 😮💨Some ways to ground assessments: 1️⃣Clarify why you are making the assessment: it is usually for the sake of some possible future outcome or interaction. If you can't come up with a why it may be a recreational assessment. 2️⃣Clarify for yourself the standards that youre using to assess. If i say Ava is disorganized, what are my standards for organization against which I am judging Ava? This step tells us if we have consiously set standards in certain areas. 3️⃣Purposefully come up with actions or events that can support your assessment. Be cognizant of building a case based on what you observed, rather than speaking to others’ experience. 4️⃣Look at your observations and experiences against your own defined or clarified standards. Purposefully try to come up with actions or events that point to the opposite assessment. Can i point to times when Ava was on time and organized? ‼️The question I have now is What does this mean to me? What does this open up? 👥You can then share your assessment with other people for grounding. You are doing this to maintain openness about others’ assessments of a particular thing you are assessing. When we settle into our conditioned emotions, those influence the assessments we are making, nothing wrong with that, just a way to hone in on our observer. 🐶 What assessments are Beemo making in this picture? 😃 #explicitcommunication #leadershipconversations #generativeleaders
