As a Senior Project Manager, Provide direct support to the CIO, Deputy CIO, and the Technical Services teams. This support can be for specific projects or teams and objectives. The project is about helping the Technical Services teams successfully manage the project on time, within budget, and meeting all requirements. As a Project Manager, the key functions provided throughout are developing project plans, identifying and tracking key milestones, developing requirements, and communicating about the projects. DHS needs resources who are comfortable with Process Projects - managing the Project Managers under Technical Services that do the actual Project Management. Candidates should also be able to provide guidance and oversight to project teams. Examples of the types of support provided by this position include: -Making sure project status is up to date and projects are moving forward. -Managing risks and issues. -Updating schedules. -Providing some training on principles of Project Management. -Creating reports. -Communicating with the Technical Services Director the current state of all projects in that unit. -Working with the Technical Services team leads to develop project descriptions and high-level plans with key milestones and dates, which are maintained to provide status to the CIO and other key stakeholders. -Developing program and implementation strategy.
