    Two years ago, I was drawn to G2i Inc. because of the company's mission to promote developer health. I felt this mission was so important yet so underappreciated in the industry. I wanted to help support such a worthwhile cause. Now, when people ask us how we as a company exactly support developer health, here are the main ways I could think of: 👩💼 As a community manager, I try to make myself available as a listening ear and friend to many of our members. While they're working on contracts, we offer support and ensure we advocate for them if any work environments become unhealthy or toxic. 🧑🤝🧑 We've also created programs like mentorship, workshops, and sessions to empower our community members to support each other. 📝 And lastly, we provide tailored resources from stress and burnout coaching (hi Madhurima Sappatti 👋) to educational events on challenges like imposter syndrome - all designed to help our members. I'm proud to share the newest addition to our list of resources, the Developer Health OS, which synthesizes 2 years of research and work by Michelle Bakels and Gabe Greenberg. 🙏 This opinionated framework provides a comprehensive approach to burnout prevention, recovery and peak performance for developers, complete with a companion workbook - and is a PLEASURE to read.     After 2 years of synthesizing, researching, consulting, and writing, we're proud to officially share The Developer Health OS by Michelle Bakels and Gabe Greenberg. The DHOS is an opinionated framework for burnout prevention, recovery, and optimal performance, complete with a companion workbook. The OS contains two parts: 1. A guide through burnout prevention, recovery, and optimal performance 2. A workbook with "Cerebral Calisthenics" to support clarity, accountability, and habit forming. Part 3 will feature guest articles from our community It is a free, online resource written with developers in mind, but devs are far from the only professionals who may find helpful information.     Most traditional staffing agencies are slow, lack transparency, and struggle to provide any real technical vetting. It’s this sort of partnership that quickly turns into a nightmare and turns companies off from contingent labor altogether.     Employees burn out because they carry on too long. Athletes push themselves to exceptional performance, but stop before the point of getting injured. So what can we learn from athletes? 1. Their workouts are scheduled on a routine 2. They have a clear start time and end time 3. They pace their progress to secure career longevity All this to reach the highest level of achievement. So why is it so hard for us to do the same? It's because we often lack systems and routines. Systems and routines to fall back on when: - We feel stressed out due to work - We feel worked up due to work - We are frustrated due to work - We are irritated due to work We want to work at a comfortable pace and rest before we get burned out. Here's how to do it: 1. Take a break and check your energy level 2. Feeling stressed out or worked up? 3.
