✨Help Us Fuel the Future: Fund Our Mobile Farmers' Market Truck✨⁠ ⁠ 🚛 We need YOUR support for our mobile farmers’ markets in Contra Costa County: since 2013, our mobile farmers markets have been a lifeline, annually serving 2,120 shoppers, with nearly 90% of sales supporting low-income communities.⁠ ⁠ ➡️ Now, we're facing a critical need for a new truck.⁠ ⁠ 🚛 Our current vehicle, Cici, serving our East Bay shoppers since 2013, is experiencing frequent mechanical issues. Frequent breakdowns are disrupting our ability to thoughtfully serve our communities, so it's time for an upgrade. Despite a $103,000 grant from the California Department of Agriculture, we're still $50,000 short!⁠ ⁠ 💚 A new truck will meet the growing demand, provide more fresh, locally-sourced options, and enhance distribution in an energy-efficient way.⁠ ⁠ ✨Your support can change the game!✨⁠ ⁠ 🌱🍅 With your contribution, we plan to acquire a new truck with expanded refrigeration capabilities. 📣🚛While in the process of launching a fundraising campaign for our East Bay Mobile Farmers’ Market truck���which is nearing the end of its service life—disaster struck for our South Bay truck: it was involved in a fire, rendering it unusable for at least a few months. This unexpected event has significantly impacted our ability to continue serving the San Jose area, doubling our immediate need. We are currently working with our insurance to assess the damage and are hopeful that it will be fully covered. ➡️However, any financial assistance at this time would greatly help us expedite our efforts and allow our team to adapt our programs to better meet the immediate needs in San Jose. 🍑👩🏽🌾Our Mobile Farmers’ Markets are essential in providing fresh, affordable produce to underserved communities. Each truck is a lifeline, connecting families with the nutritious food they need. Without our trucks, many in our community will face increased food insecurity. We are urgently seeking to raise funds to replace the truck operating in the East Bay and ensure the continuation of our mobile markets.
