Very grateful for the opportunities that FPC Riverwood has enjoyed the privilege of supporting during the first half of the year. It’s always fun serving industry leaders in broadline foodservice, 3PL, and transportation. A couple of notes to share some high-level observations with you, just FPC Riverwood’s humble observations out of Augusta, GA: -Historically, 60/40 split on search volume between warehousing to transportation has flipped to 60/40ish in favor of transportation YTD. 80% of searches conducted are for Senior Managers through Executive Leaders -Transportation activity is rooted in broadline foodservice, dedicated, flatbed, and tank; warehousing in broadline foodservice and 3PL -Regardless of function, noticing concentrated hotspots of activity across the Southeast (GA, SC, NC, and TN) and the Midwest (OH, IN, IL). Have also successfully completed searches in the Northeast and West Coast -Time to fill (date search is qualified to signed offer letter) increased YoY from 2022 to 2023, 45 to 60 days. 2023 to 2024 it has dropped back down to 48 days which is a bit of right sizing after a couple of longer lead time searches came to successful outcomes, was sitting at around 30 days a month ago -The “why” behind searches has morphed from being dominated by discrete upgrades in 2023 to more promotional and retirement replacements and some startup operation activity If you are active on the market or passively exploring a new chapter, keep after it, I know it's a tight market but there are good career opportunities out there. If you are considering making changes to your team and could benefit from a no expectations chat to discuss the details above in greater detail, let’s connect. The job market in Warehousing and Transportation operations may not be as robust as years past, but it is loosening up a bit compared to 2023. FPC Riverwood continues to support industry leading companies with their search requirements, primarily from a site P&L holder (think GM, Terminal Manager, etc.) through executive level. Confidential backfill searches for promotional / retirement reasons are up and we're starting to see more startup operation activity as well. Of note, time to fill (search qualified to signed offer letter) extended itself by a couple of weeks in 2023 but we've noticed that timeline halve itself to an average of about 30 days so far this year. Hiring companies are focused on retaining momentum in the process and creating a positive candidate experience, for all levels of leadership hired.
