About us
We exist to drive lasting social change. We view problems through a lens of humanity, evidence, and possibility. Our work is to discover what is needed and uncover what is possible and create solutions that shape a better tomorrow. We apply evidence-based strategies and breakthrough creativity to promote health and well-being for all, to shape effective and inclusive institutions, and build resilient communities. If you’re a thinker, innovator, learner, or leader, and want to make a real difference, we should talk. Fors Marsh is a place for change-makers from all walks of life. Our benefits care for the whole person, not just the professional. To ensure every voice is heard, we founded the Driving Inclusion and Valuing Equity (DIVE) Committee, Racial Equity Team, and Affinity Groups, and sponsor an annual Indigenous Internship Program. Our B Corporation certification represents our commitment to accountability, transparency, and equity. We are intentional about pursuing work and building partnerships that balance people, purpose, and planet. If you’re looking for bigger thinking and bigger impact, you’ve come to the right place.

We approach critical public health concerns through a lens of curiosity, humanity, and collaboration to make a big impact. Next week, we will be headed to NACCHO360 in Michigan to join the conversation. Our own Everett Long, PhD will be presenting with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, next Wednesday, in a session titled “An Environmental Scan of Youth-Focused Substance Use, Overdose, and Mental and Behavioral Health Campaigns and Communications Efforts”. If you're curious about how media messaging affects behavior change, this research is for you. A big nod to the researchers and communication strategists whose work has taught us more about how people engage with campaigns in ways that lead to societal change.

In 2022, we created our Indigenous Internship Program (IIP)—the first of its kind in the United States—to give students from tribal colleges and universities the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in business. We used data to inform its development, ensuring that we are best able to meet the needs of our program participants and will continue to apply data as it evolves. Our very own Marek K., Tope Mitchell, Ph.D., and Rhyannon Curry have published a brief report detailing levels of satisfaction with different elements of the program among the first cohort of interns. Our genuine hope is that by openly sharing, we can inform the development of other programs and resources across like-minded organizations. We also hope we can inspire action-oriented commitment to DEIA+ in the workplace. PSA to our loyal Empathy Affect podcast listeners! Our next episode is taking a holiday break for the 4th of July. As we celebrate tomorrow, we’ll revisit some of our past episodes focused on the people and programs that carry our government’s mission to shape an environment in which all Americans can thrive. We’ve covered the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s investments in environmental justice. We heard how United States Digital Service (USDS) has built solutions for equitable postnatal support for new mothers. And we’ve heard from recovery leaders at Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) on destigmatizing practices for people recovering from substance use disorder. In each episode, we speak with real people in government about how they weave empathy into what they do. Catch up on our many episodes wherever you stream your podcasts and reflect on our country’s arc of progress this holiday weekend. We’ll be back Thursday, July 11th, for our next episode, where we'll dive into climate action! Don’t miss these episodes: Season 2, Episode 1 with EPA > https://lnkd.in/ebvDv5db Season 2, Episode 4 with USDS > https://lnkd.in/e-t4nj59 Season 1, Episode 3 with SAMHSA > https://lnkd.in/e7xbw_RZ #EmpathyAffect #IndependenceDay #Climate #PublicHealth #SUD

Happy Pride! 🏳️🌈 This Pride Month, our LGBTQIA+ Affinity Group collaborated with Point of Pride on a virtual card-writing event, crafting heartfelt letters of affirmation for transgender individuals seeking support and solidarity. We encourage our team to be their authentic selves and to create safe spaces, like our employee affinity groups, to support self-expression all year round. And, we'll continue to advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights, cultivate a sense of belonging, and embrace the diversity that strengthens our community. #LGBTQIA #DiversityEquityInclusion #SeriouslyHuman

We can be the generation to end the HIV epidemic, and with lots of new HIV testing options, it’s easier than ever to be part of the solution. With our efforts to reduce HIV stigma and promote prevention and treatment, we understand the importance of sharing resources to make prioritizing health needs easy for everyone. Whether testing for yourself or your loved ones, everyone from the ages of 13-64 should include HIV testing as part of their routine health care. The only way to know for sure is to get tested. June 27th is National #HIVTestingDay! The 2024 theme is "Level Up Your Self-love: Check Your Status". This theme emphasizes the importance of valuing yourself, treating yourself with compassion and respect, and prioritizing your health needs through self-love.
