About us
Forbes Travel Guide is the global authority on luxury travel. Started as Mobil Travel Guide in 1958, we created the first Five-Star rating system in the United States. Today we are global, offering discerning travelers the only independently rated collection of luxury hotels, restaurants and spas. We continue today as ForbesTravelGuide.com. Forbes Travel Guide's Star Rating standards reflect the highest levels of service and facility measurement in the industry worldwide. Our anonymous professional inspectors evaluate based on up to 900 objective standards. While we inspect both service and facility, we emphasize quality of service because your experience goes beyond looks—how it makes you feel is what you will remember most. Only the best properties in the world earn the coveted Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star, Four-Star and Recommended awards. We also provide the hospitality industry with learning tools and programs that deliver insight into the Star Rating process and expert guidance on connecting with guests most effectively: -Our Quality Assessments evaluate your property on the same criteria that is used in the Forbes Travel Guide official Star Rating System — the “ultimate practice test” on the most stringent standards in the hospitality industry. -Our Training programs focus on developing a culture of intuitive, engaged team members, allowing the personality of the property to shine and the employee to flourish. Training modules are bespoke to each property and integrate brand standards and management initiatives. -Global Partnership provides transparency into Forbes Travel Guide’s rigorous and prestigious Star Rating system. -StarCoach is a smartphone/tablet-based behavioral simulator that analyzes the voice and provides feedback to enhance your associates’ interpersonal skills —it's how you say it. Our cocktail journey today takes us to Brussels. We're off to Hotel Amigo, a Rocco Forte Hotel’s hot new Bar Magritte. The Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel’s bar pays homage to Belgian painter René Magritte and his surrealist world through various sensory experiences. To mark the unveiling of the biennial Flower Carpet at the Grand-Place, Hassan Guilich, bar manager, created an ephemeral menu on the theme of blossoms. One standout is La Vie en Rose, featuring hibiscus-infused vodka, vine peach liqueur, lemon juice, rose syrup and champagne. This blush cocktail, reminiscent of a rose garden with fruity, gourmet notes, is presented in custom-made floral glasses by Ichendorf Milano and garnished with rose petals. If you're planning a trip to Brussels soon, don't hesitate to add a flowery touch by stopping by and discovering this summertime cocktail menu. But if come out of season, you can also enjoy Bar Magritte's year-round menu of signature and classic cocktails created by master mixologist Salvatore Calabrese. Every month, Bastien Gardrat, the Spirits Ambassador who oversees the Spirits Lab at Forbes Travel Guide’s Center for Excellence, shares a unique bar/cocktail experience. To be considered for a feature, email him at spirits@forbestravelguide.com. #forbestravelguide #hospitality #hospitalityindustry #serviceexcellence #hospitalitytraining #spiritsindustry #cocktails
