We are excited to share that The Ives is officially open! The Ives features 50 units with on-site services from Jefferson Center for Mental Health, community space, and is walkable to jobs, groceries, and transportation. The building was dedicated to our long-time board member, Brian Ballard, who through decades of service helped better Jefferson County and was indispensable in helping FRH develop needed affordable housing. We also honored the City of Wheat Ridge Police Department for being such a wonderful partner for our residents and community. It was an honor to share this event with our HUD @Regional Administrator Dominique Jackson, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public and Indian Housing Rich Monocchio, Jefferson County Commissioner Tracy Kraft-Tharp, Wheat Ridge Mayor Bud Starker, and so many of our partners and supporters. A special thank you to Shopworks Architecture for designing and Calcon Constructors, Inc. for building this beautiful community.

Yesterday, we were honored to host Governor Polis and our State Representatives and Senators at AVi at Olde Town as the Governor signed into law three bills (SB24-008 Kinship Foster Care Homes, HB24-1434 Expand Affordable Housing Tax Credit, and SB24-174 Sustainable Affordable Housing Assistance). We look forward to the benefit these bills will have on foster children, their families, and those who need an affordable place to call home.

HUD Acting Secretary Adrianne Todman visited Boulder today to announce the most recent cohort of Moving to Work expansion agencies. Congratulations to our neighbors, Boulder County Housing Authority, for being selected as one of the newest MTW agencies! FRH was honored to meet with Acting Secretary Todman to discuss MTW and the role FRH is playing as an MTW agency in creating responsive, impactful policies to better serve our community. Our team had so much fun at Arvada Chamber Of Commerce's 99th Annual Dinner where we, along with our partner CASA of Jefferson and Gilpin Counties, had the honor of being 2023's Non-Profit of the Year! There are many deserving non-profits and we are humbled to be chosen for 2023. Thank you to everyone for the support and the hard work it took to put this event together. Yesterday, we had the honor of welcoming Alexis Pelosi, HUD's Senior Advisor to the Secretary on Climate to AVi at Olde Town. AVi is Zero Energy Ready Homes certified and features EV chargers granted by the CO Energy Office, energy efficient appliances and light fixtures, and is located walking distance to public transportation. We had a great time showing this community to our friends at HUD and are proud to be recognized for our efforts in sustainability! #sustainability #sustainabledevelopment #affordablehousing

Our 2023 staff holiday party was a success. We celebrated with lunch, gifts, and years of service awards for eight of our dedicated employees. We couldn't ask for a better team! Happy holidays from all of us. ☃
