Without freedom, we wouldn’t have free enterprise. Wishing you a happy and safe Independence Day! 🎆
About us
For nearly a century, the Florida Chamber of Commerce has fought for free enterprise and worked to secure Florida’s future. Through research, advocacy and leadership, the Florida Chamber Foundation, the Florida Chamber of Commerce and the Florida Chamber Political Operations work together to help make our vision of Florida’s future a reality. This vision led to the development of a long-term strategic plan for Florida, also known as the Six Pillars™ 20-year Strategic Plan. As we faced the closing years of the last decade, Florida’s economy was clearly changing and the politics of Florida were calling for the business community to unite. Despite temporary loss in population growth, it was clear Florida would be facing an expanded population between five and seven million more residents by the year 2030. We must do a better job planning for the next seven million Floridians than we did for the last seven million.

Our Florida Chamber Leadership Cabinet on Safety, Health and Sustainability is keeping you informed about OSHA's recently released first-ever federal heat safety rule. Check out their post below and be sure to share with your team 👇 A special thanks to our Cabinet's advisory board member Ed Foulke and Fisher Phillips for helping Florida leaders break down the proposed rule.
💡Keeping You in the Know: In an effort to further safeguard workers from heat-related illnesses and fatalities, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) proposed the nation’s first-ever federal heat safety rule yesterday. The ruling could soon require employers that conduct indoor and outdoor work activities across industry sectors to enact robust measures to protect their employees from the hazards of extreme heat conditions. 📑Our advisory board member Ed Foulke, Former Head of OSHA and Partner at Fisher Phillips, and his team have crafted a guide to help employers better understand the proposed heat safety rule. Click the link to access the guide, which includes ‘10 Steps Employers Should Take to Protect Workers this Summer – and Beyond’: https://bit.ly/4cp9PRf. ▶ Our Florida Chamber Safety Council remains dedicated to keeping you and your employees safe.
