𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞'𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲! Buckling up is the single most effective thing you can do to protect yourself in a crash. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 50% of car passengers killed in 2022 were not wearing seatbelts. When you buckle up in the front seat of a passenger car, you can reduce your risk of fatal injury by 45% or moderate to critical injury by 50%. These statistics speak for themselves: make sure you and your family always use seatbelts!

Did you know that transportation is responsible for more than 50% of nitrogen oxide emissions and 20% of particulate matter emissions, two major contributors to poor air quality? As a Smartway partner for over a decade, Fleetmaster is making concerted efforts to improve the sustainability of our supply chain by measuring, benchmarking, and improving the efficiency of our transportation processes. We utilize a combination of practices including fuel optimization technologies, APU units, & idle management to remain environmentally responsible.

With kids getting back to school soon, don't forget to enroll your child into our Praise for A's program! Enrolled children in grades k-12 are eligible to receive $10 for each A they earn in core subjects like Math, Science, English, and History. At the end of each grading period, we send a check to your child to reward them for their hard work. This is just one way we like to give back to our drivers' families!

The stopping distance of a vehicle is a critical safety factor, and these distances vary greatly between cars and semi-trucks. Speed and weight are just some factors that affect stopping distance. For example, a normal passenger vehicle driving at 65 mph will need about 300 feet to stop. A fully loaded commercial truck driving 65 mph will need about 600 feet to stop. These figures are based on ideal road conditions and can be influenced by several other factors. During snowy or rainy weather, for example, all vehicles require a much longer stopping distance to account for limited visibility and slick roads.
