On Thursday, May 2, The Kyle Pease Foundation and Fire Protection Services celebrated the launch of KPF’s Employment Initiative. After many years of helping people of all abilities realize their athletic goals, KPF broadened its mission and is taking inclusivity beyond the race course and into the business world. Fire Protection Services is proud to be the first company to partner with KPF on this initiative. Three months ago, Josh Porter started working with FPS as our Office Operations and Communications Coordinator. Josh has worked on a variety of projects, from graphic design to customer communications to event planning. He also serves as our unofficial Public Relations Manager, telling everyone he meets why they should choose FPS as their fire and life safety partner! The last three months have been a fantastic experience for FPS, KPF and Josh; exceeding all of our expectations. So we got together to celebrate and show KPF clients, board members and other business leaders the benefits of this partnership and to encourage others to join in. Josh said, “The inclusion program has given me more than just a job. It’s given me a way to reach my goals through my own power. It has given me financial freedom and made me realize that I can achieve many things. It has really boosted my confidence. I’m just really enjoying the opportunity and the journey.” Adam Heiser of FPS said, “Everyone thinks we are helping Josh. But the truth is, he’s done more for us than we could ever do for him.”

Fire Protection Services brought the Team together on November 22 for some food, fun and fellowship to say thank you to everyone who works so hard every day. We celebrated anniversaries, recognized outstanding performers, shared a great meal, and got inspired by two brothers who thrive on living outside their comfort zone. After celebrating together Wednesday morning, our Team then had a long weekend to celebrate the holidays with their family and friends. Thank you to all of our Team Members and Customers who enable us to do what we love!!!

FPS recently hosted an annual fire equipment training for long-term customers, Sierra Development. The training was geared towards the facility maintenance managers of Sierra Development at the GPSTC George M. Lanier Fire Laboratory Training building in Forsyth, GA. The training room was utilized for classroom and hands-on fire equipment instruction and training. During this session, FPS taught the maintenance staff about annual and quarterly inspections, preventative maintenance, and emergency response solutions.
