The women of Fairview participated in Women Build 2024 with Habitat for Humanity North Central Connecticut! Despite the rain, our team had so much fun getting out of the office, into the community, and contributing to a major build in Hartford County, that will provide 10 families with homeownership. #Fairviewinthecommunity #WomenBuild #BuildingHope   Over the course of one month, Women Build volunteers along with Habitat crew leaders framed three two-story homes up to the roof. 90% of the labor on Habitat homes is completed by volunteers like us!

With AI rapidly changing the business of venture capital, Fairview Managing Partner Aakar Vachhani was invited to participate in a fireside chat at the V5 Summit with John Gannon. The V5 Summit was a gathering designed for venture capital firms seeking to revolutionize their funds and operations through the use of AI. Aakar spoke about the trends Fairview is tracking and what Fairview looks for in venture firms that use AI in their processes. The conversation also touched on how the future of funds of funds and limited partners will change with advances in AI applications and agents. At Fairview we believe that big changes are coming, and that investors must be well prepared to navigate this new, increasingly complex landscape. Stay tuned, we’ll be sharing more on this topic throughout the year.

Don’t miss our Co-Founder Larry Morse sharing his thoughts on Bloomberg with Romaine Bostick, CFA and Alix Steel on the hot topic of AI investing. “The venture capital industry, in particular, thrives on waves of innovation. I mean, we had cloud, we had SAS, we had mobile. Now we've got AI, something that clearly is going to impact all industries. It's going to be transformative in some cases. We're certainly seeing interesting developments, if you will, in that area, and we started paying attention to AI a decade ago, across the stack, infrastructure, middleware, applications.” He also shared what he’s optimistic about for the future. “One of the things that's really exciting for me right now, quite frankly, is observing this next generation of firm leaders moving into position and continuing to grow and build Fairview. For my fellow Co-Founder, JoAnn and I, nothing could be more gratifying. This development with New York Life aligns them in such a way with where the industry is going, that we think will be very healthy for Fairview and certainly offers a bright future.” Tune in for more highlights from the full interview: https://bloom.bg/4aDbtNf

Last week, our Co-Founder Larry Morse, shared insights with Romaine Bostick, CFA and Alix Steel on Bloomberg TV’s The Close! Larry explained how our partnership with New York Life Insurance Company started and also touched on consolidation in the asset management industry. “New York Life was an existing investor of ours, and back in 2021, they retained us to build a portfolio of next-generation private equity fund managers, those that we've identified as having the talent, the ability, the performance that suggest that they’re likely to build enduring franchises over time. In that process, we worked very closely with the team of professionals at New York Life. They got to know us, we got to know them. We developed deep respect for one another. We understood our capabilities, our compatibilities, our complementaries, so when they broached the notion of deepening the relationship…we decided we pursue it,” - Larry Morse. Our recent announcement about New York Life acquiring a minority ownership stake in Fairview is aligned with where the industry is going. “If you've been paying attention to what's going on in the asset management industry, broadly speaking, consolidation has been underway for some time, and it's driven primarily by large institutional investors.” Tune in for more highlights from the full interview: https://bloom.bg/4aDbtNf

As we acknowledge Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, here is a Fairview Perspective from Managing Partner, Alan Mattamana, sharing his thoughts on the data within the landscape for Woman and Minority-owned firms: “Despite a perception that Asian-American-owned firms have made positive progress in the area of new fund formation, the data shows they face similar challenges to the broader universe of woman and minority-owned firms when it comes to scaling up.” See link to the report here: https://lnkd.in/ewe6bMh8
