7 ideas for building your wealth... 1. Reverse budgeting: Focus on savings first, and then your spending. If retirement is important to you, saving 10% of your income into a retirement account is a great goal. At a bare minimum, try to contribute up to your company match. 2. Start an emergency fund: Build up 3-6 months of living expenses in savings account. This account can be a high-yield savings account or a brokerage account for easy access. 3. Manage your debt: While some debt can be beneficial, such as mortgages or student loans that can lead to increased earning potential, high-interest debt can be detrimental to financial freedom. Prioritize paying down high-interest debt, as it can be a significant obstacle to building wealth. 4. Live below your means: This is quite simple, but hard for most. Spend less than you earn to create more room for savings and investments. 5. Make Roth contributions: This allows your investments to grow tax-free. You can typically do this through your 401(k) or a Roth IRA. If you earn income over $146,000 filing single, consider making backdoor Roth contributions. 6. Consider real estate: Real estate can be a powerful wealth-building tool. The potential benefits can include generating income, long-term appreciation, tax benefits, and diversification. Make sure you understand the risks before diving in. 7. Automate your finances: Set up automatic transfers to your savings and investment accounts. This helps ensure consistency in saving and investing, keeping you on track toward your financial goals. The bottom line is that building your wealth requires discipline and time. It's not easy, but following these steps can set yourself up for a more secure financial future.

Thinking of taking a 401(k) loan? While it offers quick cash, be aware of the significant costs:   💸 Origination and maintenance fees 📈 High interest rates 📉 Missed investment gains 🚨 Risk of default if you leave your job 💰 Double taxation   Consider smarter alternatives: 1. Emergency Fund: Save 3-6 months of expenses. 2. 0% APR Credit Card: Interest-free for 12 months. 3. Personal Loan: Quick cash but repay ASAP due to high interest. 4. Line of Credit: Use your home (HELOC) or broker account (SBLOC).   Protect your retirement savings!
