The C.R.O.W.N Act stands for “Create a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair”, a law that prohibits race-based hair discrimination in the workplace and schools. It is a campaign led by the CROWN Coalition, founded by Dove, National Urban League, Color of Change and Western Center on Law & Poverty. At #EvaNYC, we truly believe that hair is our crown. It’s part of how we express ourselves to the world and should be honored and celebrated, not used as a means for discrimination. Rain or shine #EvaNYC celebrated #NYCPride. On Sunday, our team participated in the New York City #Pride March with one of our favorite local NYC drag queens, BaeJing. We marched, we celebrated, we danced, and showered those marching and in the crowd with Kweeen Silver Glitter Spray. We wanted everyone to shine, inside and out. Last week, our team gathered both in person and virtually for a #PrideMonth Panel to celebrate LGBTQIA+ members of our community. We discussed how the Stonewall uprising paved the way, listened to personal stories and experiences, and further educated ourselves on how to show up for the LGBTQIA+ community. It was a beautiful evening celebrating, chatting, and learning from those in our community. The magic of self-expression belongs to all of us. #HappyPride! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Happy Juneteenth from all of us at Eva NYC! Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, is a day we celebrate the liberation and empowerment of Black Americans. At Eva NYC, we’re proud to continue amplifying and shining a light on Black voices through the long-term partnerships in our vibrant community. How do we do that?  - Partnering with local NYC Black-owned business Hibiscus Brew, founded by Allison Dunn. - Giving back to youth-inspiring organization Girls Inc.   - Supporting Green City Force, an organization training young leaders in low-income housing communities to power a green and inclusive economy through service. - Growing our cohort of Black creators from 20% in 2023 to 27% so far in 2024 .    We hope you take some time today to honor Black history and engage in further education. Want to learn more about the historical legacy of #Juneteenth?
