    Job Description: The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for developing and implementing departmental goals, plans, and standards aligned with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements and objectives of the organization within the Surgical Services department(s). This role entails directing and evaluating departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, with the aim of achieving performance and quality control objectives. The Director will also plan and monitor staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, implementing disciplinary actions, and initiating continuing education initiatives. Additionally, they will prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets, ensuring compliance with allocated funding, and coordinate and direct internal and external audits. Creating an environment that fosters professional growth and integrating evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols are also essential responsibilities of this position. Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Skills: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification current upon hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)/ENPC to be completed within six (6) months of hire.
