Today, I’m celebrating one year working with such wonderful individuals at Episcopal Homes of Minnesota who share the mission of enriching life and building community with older adults. What an eventful, and gratifying year this has been. Well, here’s to another year of new opportunities and experiences to learn and grow! Feeling thankful for this #workmilestone

I am excited to announce that I will be starting my 50 week Administrative Residency with the UWEC Health Care Administration at Episcopal Homes of Minnesota!! I am extremely excited to be learning from Keanan Franco and looking forward to this amazing opportunity!!

Tom Henry, CEO & President had the honor of accepting the 2023 Advancement Level Award from The Performance Excellence Network (PEN) on behalf of Episcopal Homes. The Award is based on the Baldrige Framework and is the culmination of a rigorous evaluation of an organization’s management and performance system.  The evaluation criteria consider leadership, strategic planning, customer-related processes, measurement and knowledge management, workforce, and operations, and recognize organizations that are systematically improving results. We are thankful for this experience and are committed to our journey of achieving and sustaining excellence.

A reminder: I am excited to announce this year's Robert L. Kane Memorial Lecture! The 2024 Lecturer is Sheryl Zimmerman a Distinguished Professor of Social Work and Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Zimmerman is also the Co-Director of the Program on Aging, Chronic Illness, and Long-Term Care at the University of North Carolina Sheps Center for Health Services Research. Dr. Zimmerman is the Executive Director of the national Center for Excellence in Assisted Living. She is internationally recognized as a leader in long-term care research and pragmatic and clinical trials. Dr. Zimmerman will present on a timely topic: "Green House Nursing Homes: More Than a Promising Innovation" on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 3:00PM-4:30PM CST/4:00PM-5:30PM EST. Joining Dr. Zimmerman are Susan Ryan, CEO of the Center for Innovation: The Green House Project and Pioneer Network and Melissa Schneider of Episcopal Homes of Minnesota. They will describe Green House homes, research on care and outcomes, and the future of Green House homes in the U.S. and abroad. Attendance is free, and we plan to offer continuing education credits for purchase. For those planning to join us in person at The Campus Club at the University of Minnesota the ABC Room, we will host a free reception and cash bar! Kane Memorial Lecture honors the legacy of Dr. Robert L. Kane, the first holder of the endowed Long-Term Care in Aging at the University of Minnesota (1990-2017). I'm excited to share that I've accepted the role of President and CEO at Episcopal Homes of Minnesota! For over 125 years, Episcopal Homes has been providing exceptional care and services to seniors, and I'm thrilled to lead such a vibrant organization. Moving forward, I'm eager to collaborate with the talented team at Episcopal Homes to continue to innovate and lead the industry in providing compassionate care to seniors.

I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Recruiter at Episcopal Homes of Minnesota! Also, #werehiring (of course). Recruiting is a unique role where you go from "ready to work" to "hiring" in the blink of an eye. and it's one of the things I love about it. get me back to work so I can help others find meaningful roles.
