My sister had tonic-clonic seizures starting at age 3, and I have watched her fight for our whole lives. When I was 14, I had my first seizure, and my worst fear had come true. For the last few years, I’ve had my own fight and journey, and my sister has been providing mentorship and comfort. I never realized how much epilepsy can take from you. Even though I feel left out of activities sometimes, every day I realize the limits I have are to keep me and others safe. Read more stories: https://lnkd.in/eRF8V9zT

I had my first seizure when I was 15 at a church. An ambulance was called, and CPR was done on me. Months after missing school and sports I was finally diagnosed with epilepsy. With the amazing work of doctors, my seizures have been controlled. I have limits, but I still play sports and live my life. It has been challenging but I have overcome it by talking to God and my faith. Don’t give up. You're a strong person, so don’t let anyone tell you differently. We are all in this together!
