The Enchanted Rock policy team had a great visit to the Texas Capitol, where they hosted a Lunch and Learn event for legislators and staff. Discussions dove into the evolution of the #texasgrid and the essential role of #localgeneration solutions in ensuring reliability and #resiliency for Texas consumers. There was a lot of attention on the unprecedented power growth in Texas, which is being driven by the influx of new #datacenters, manufacturing facilities, and #EV infrastructure. These customers will need onsite power ahead of utility interconnection, and our Bridge-to-Grid solution provides flexible generation options during peak times and decentralizes power generation to support rapid business growth. The policy and regulatory changes that will enable our technology can go a long way toward balancing supply and demand, and our #microgrid’s ability to transition to backup for unplanned outages after the arrival of utility interconnection could be a huge benefit during long-duration outages – like the one southeast Texas is dealing with right now from #HurricaneBeryl. A big thank you to special guests Josh Smith from Abundance Institute and Gideon O. Powell 🏴☠️ from Cholla Inc. for joining Joel Yu and Monica Batra-Shrader in the presentation and discussion! More than 5 million people are without power across Texas. In storms like #Beryl, our first priority as always is safety – the safety of our team and their families, the safety of our customers, and the safety of our community. Before #HurricaneBeryl even made landfall in Houston, some area businesses took proactive steps to keep their power on. With Enchanted Rock, these businesses transitioned to natural gas generator power, ensuring they would stay operational during and after the storm. With natural gas generators, which don't need refueling like diesel generators, our customers will continue to serve their communities no matter how long it takes to restore power from the grid. Since this morning, we’ve covered more than 150 outages, and continue to monitor evolving conditions and keep the power on as our teams, customers and communities begin to focus on recovery. #safety #houston #texas #txwx #poweroutage #storm
