Although National Women in Roofing Week has come to an end, our commitment to highlighting the incredible women on Empire Roofing continues! Today, we’re excited to introduce Jenn Lecours , our exceptional Service Manager based out of our Windsor office. Jenn has been a vital part of the Empire family for many years, consistently demonstrating professionalism, dedication, hard work, and a positive attitude. We are so incredible grateful for her commitment and the positive impact she has on our team each and every day. We asked Jenn if she could answer a few questions about her time and experience in the roofing industry: Q: How long have you been working in the roofing industry? A: “I have been working in the roofing industry for over 7 years, starting on March 17th 2017!” Q: What do you enjoy most about working in the roofing industry? A: “What I enjoy most about working in the roofing industry is the fast-paced environment and the continuous opportunities to learn and grow within the field.” Q: What challenges have you overcome in this industry? A: “Coming from a non-roofing background, the biggest challenge I faced was learning about the various products and understanding the numerous roofing systems. However, working with the Empire Service team has enabled me to rapidly gain this knowledge and overcome these challenges.” Q: How do you see the role of women evolving in the roofing industry? A: “I see more and more women becoming involved in the roofing industry each year. It is a pleasure to work alongside such strong and capable women, and I believe their presence and influence will continue to grow, bringing fresh perspectives and driving positive change within the industry.” Q: What advice would you give to other women considering a career in roofing?” A: “My advice to other women considering a career in roofing is it be confident in your ability to learn and excel in something outside of your comfort zone. Today is Day 5 of National Women in Roofing Week, and we are thrilled to introduce Jessica Doughty, our incredible Production coordinator here at our Greensboro branch! Jessie brings a vibrant and kind presence to our office, alwayd enhancing the work environment with her positive attitude and dedication. Her exceptional work ethic and commitment to excellence make her a valuable member of our team, and we are so thankful she is a member of the Procon family. Jessie shared some of her thoughts about her time here: Q: How long have you been working in the roofing industry? A: “I have been working in the roofing industry for a little over a year.” Q: What do you enjoy most about working in the roofing industry? A: “The relationships I have built with our team. We have the best group of people working in this corporation, I truly think we are lucky in that regard.” Q: What challenges have you overcome working in this industry? A: “My background has primarily been in windows and doors. Coming into this industry has been challenging (in a good way). I am constantly trying to learn more and more about the hands-on portion of roofing. The knowledge that our team has and the time the team has taken to share with me for my personal growth and growth within the company is invaluable.” Q: How do you see the role of women evolving in the roofing industry? A: “This is one of my favorite things about Procon. We have some very knowledgeable and powerful women within our corporation. I love that construction as a whole is no longer seen as a ‘man’s thing…’ that women have been able to carve a permanent footprint in the industry also.” Q: What advice would you give to other women considering a career in roofing? A: “Don’t be frightened! There are learning curves in every aspect of our lives, but not taking a chance can cause us to miss out on wonderful opportunities and relationships with like-minded individuals. (And like Sharon said previously, don’t be afraid of heights!).” Jessie, thank you for your hard work, dedication, and the positive energy you bring to Procon Roofing.
