Today's Fierce Female Friday 🔥 news? Women-led VC funds are back on track to hit or exceed last year's fundraising targets! Early reports from Venture Capital Journal showed that women-led funds were hit especially hard by the fundraising slowdown, but with the full 1H 2024 data now in, those funds are catching up. 📈 Here's the stats: 48 female-led funds raised a total of $1.44B through Q2 45% of those funds were 1st time funds 😲 50% of partners in the funds were women Two firms led the pack in June: Engine Ventures (multi-stage, deeptech, healthcare & AI) raised $398M Ulu Ventures (seed stage, diverse founders) raised $190M Here's what that means to us: 🔥 Despite headwinds, women-led funds are posting some big numbers. 🔥 Half of these are NEW funds, signaling an uptick in female-led fundraising and some badassery on the part of new fund managers. 🔥The 2 who led the pack are quite different: one investing in tough tech and one in values driven diverse founders. BOTH were successful. It's almost as if we can ALL bring both parts of ourselves: the results-driven side + the innovation and mission-driven side... ...to deals ...to work ...to how we build our ventures. 📣 Calling Startup Founders! 📣 Google Cloud in partnership with Ellevoy is launching a new program: The Collective. The program aims to amplify, support, and empower underrepresented founders within the startup ecosystem. Prior to launch, we are looking to reinforce our mission statement with female founders to ensure our goals will drive valuable impact. In order to do so, we are co-hosting a Female Founders Advisory Council to ask questions and collect feedback on the program's intentions. Those looking to partake in the council will be able to: 🚩 Post their involvement of being a part of the first ever Google & Ellevoy Female Advisory Council on LinkedIn. 🚩 Meet other female founders during the session to expand their network. 🚩 Help shape and develop Google Cloud's mission of amplifying and uplifting underrepresented startup founders. The council will be held on June 21st and time is TBD based upon candidates availability. The form (linked in comments below) contains further details and context.
