This week Eggleston recognized Leah Boyd, the Assistant Director of Laundry Services, for her on-going hard work. Over the last six months, Leah has gone above and beyond her normal duties helping negotiate new contracts and overseeing contract renewals during a time of transition. She has also helped train newer employees and has shared her years of knowledge. Thank you again Leah for all you do for your department and Eggleston as a whole. You're a shining example of Excellence in Action!

Eggleston is proud to recognize and celebrate Juneteenth as one of the most important American holidays in our country’s history. Also known as African American Independence Day, Jubilee Day, or Freedom Day, on this day in 1865, news of the emancipation reached the last slaves who were living in Galveston, Texas, making it the official day that ALL peoples in the United States were free. Not only does this day represent freedom for all, but it also represents equal opportunity, access and inclusion for all people – which we at Eggleston strive for on behalf of hundreds each day.

Today, we commemorate the end of slavery in the United States and celebrate the resilience and strength of the Black community. Let's honor this significant day by reflecting on the past, embracing unity, and advocating for equality and justice. Juneteenth represents freedom, hope, and the ongoing journey towards an inclusive society. Together, let's stand in solidarity and uplift the voices of those who have fought for liberation.
