We're thrilled to announce that Workforce Solutions Borderplex and the City of El Paso have been selected as finalists in President Biden's Investing in America Program! Out of 22 finalists nationwide, El Paso is the ONLY Texas region to make the cut! This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our community leaders in advancing opportunities for our residents. The Borderplex Region Workforce Recompete Plan, spearheaded by the city of El Paso, is set to receive approximately $50 million in funding. This funding will be pivotal in upskilling our workforce for placement in high-quality jobs within El Paso County, Texas. The coalition is committed to tackling critical workforce challenges that affect distressed communities. They will be focusing on creating mobility through training in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, healthcare, and IT. The Recompete funding will upscale training programs in these key industries, expand wraparound services, and enhance job creation and connection in collaboration with our region's businesses. Together, we're building a stronger, more resilient community, and we're excited about the positive impact this investment will have on the future of El Paso!
