As a fully remote company, we appreciate any brand that makes it easier to take our laptops on the road. That's why we're proud to power climate impact at checkout with CompoCloset, the world's first composting toilet that separates solids and liquids, fits almost anywhere, has a patented agitator, and a smart LED light to know when the liquids bottle is ready to empty.  So why composting toilets? Their co-founder and CEO, Richard Peter, was “living the van life” with his girlfriend, who suggested they put a composting toilet in their campervan. The concept of composting toilets was an easy sell: they are better for the environment and you can stay out of the grid longer with no need for hookups and no wasted water! However, at the time, composting toilets on the market were large, difficult to empty and clean, and it wasn’t uncommon to accidentally overflow the liquids bin (gross!). Richard saw an opportunity to make a sustainable, eco-friendly toilet that works in small spaces, is easy to clean, and (most importantly) doesn’t smell! This triggered the ideation, creation, and implementation of Cuddy: the world’s first composting toilet that separates solids and liquids, fits almost anywhere, has a patented agitator to kickstart the composting process, and a smart LED light to let you know when the liquids bottle is ready to empty.  The team at CompoCloset is acutely aware of the dire state of our planet and wants to do their part to save it. From providing education about safely managed sanitation to sustainable packaging solutions to buying back carbon offsets, we are as passionate about saving the planet as we are about managing poo 💩 https://hubs.ly/Q02HZ0pZ0

#Carbonoffsets aren't just about #emissionsreduction. Many help communities most affected by #climatechange in the Global South. In the Mai Ndombe Project in the Western DRC, nearly 250,000 hectares of land zoned for timber extraction now support over 50,000 local community members through job creation, clean energy and water, health clinics, school restoration, and cultural preservation. You can learn more about the Mai Ndombe Project and other @Wildlifeworks projects on their website in the comments below 👇 💚

🌍 Grist's recent article highlights a crucial shift towards not just sustainability, but circularity. The term "circular economy" emerged from the environmental movement of the 1960s and '70s, envisioning a closed-loop system where all resources are conserved. This concept was rooted in the idea that our finite planet cannot sustain ever-growing resource demands, as highlighted by works like Kenneth Boulding’s "The Economics of the Coming Spaceship Earth" and the MIT researchers' "Limits to Growth". However, as Kevin Budris from Just Zero aptly points out, the phrase has been co-opted by large corporations to justify continued plastic use, often under the guise of greenwashing. The focus on plastics recycling—especially through controversial methods like chemical recycling—diverts from the core principles of the circular economy. Today, only 5% of plastics are recycled in the U.S., and many recycling projects either fail or result in downcycled products that eventually end up in landfills or incinerators. This isn't the closed-loop system envisioned decades ago. Instead of pushing more plastic into the circular economy, many environmentalists and researchers suggest we seek alternatives that don't rely on fossil fuels. Efforts like the Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act and France's anti-waste law are steps in the right direction, aiming to reduce single-use plastics and increase the repairability of everyday items. Let's not lose sight of the original vision of the circular economy. It's time to rethink our approach and focus on truly sustainable solutions. #circulareconomy #sustainability 🔗 https://hubs.ly/Q02GDCBN0

Return-on-investment (ROI) and customer retention are top metrics for decision-makers in ecommerce. Shipping protection can boost both of those metrics at little cost. BUT HOW? ⬇️ 1️⃣ Well, shipping protection tends to boost customer trust and loyalty. Customers who know their purchases are safe feel more confident buying from you, leading to increased repeat business. 2️⃣ It reduces the workload for your customer service team. With a third-party provider handling claims for lost, damaged, or stolen packages, your team can focus on more critical tasks. 3️⃣ It can help increase sales and conversion rates. Customers are more likely to complete their purchases when they know their orders are protected. 4️⃣ Offering shipping protection also enhances your brand reputation. It shows you care about your customers’ experience, setting you apart from competitors. 5️⃣ Cost efficiency is another significant benefit. The cost of shipping protection is typically passed on to the customer, so it doesn’t impact your bottom line. 6️⃣ It streamlines operations by simplifying the claims process, reducing the complexity and workload associated with shipping issues. We break it down further here at the link in the comments ⬇ #shippingprotection #customerretention #ROI #ecommerce
