About us
The Ethics & Compliance Initiative (ECI) empowers organizations to build and sustain High Quality Ethics & Compliance Programs (HQPs). ECI provides leading ethics and compliance research and best practices, networking opportunities and certification to its membership, which represents more than 450 organizations across all industries. ECI is comprised of three nonprofit organizations: the Ethics Research Center, the Ethics & Compliance Association and the Ethics & Compliance Certification Institute. RESEARCH: Founded in 1922, the Ethics Research Center (ERC) is the research arm of ECI. It is America's oldest non-profit organization devoted to independent research to advance high ethical standards and practices in public and private institutions. Recognized as the industry's leading research group, ERC analyzes current and emerging issues to produce new ideas and benchmarks. COMMUNITY: The Ethics & Compliance Association (ECA) is the membership community of ECI. This community provides learning through the exchange of ideas and the sharing of best practice in ethics and compliance programs. The association connects global practitioners, thought-leaders, academicians and partners. CERTIFICATION: The Ethics & Compliance Certification Institute (ECCI) is the certification arm of ECI. It represents a strong rigor in education and certification for ethics and compliance practitioners and represents the evolution of the certification program (formerly conducted by the ECA's Foundation). Certification helps prepare practitioners to deliver a new level of excellence to their organizations.

Thank you Pat Harned for always reminding our industry that purpose-and-values-driven employees are an important reason to lead with integrity at all levels of an organization! And thank you to Deloitte for this wonderful insight into our two very important workforce groups that can help us drive business integrity for the future! #purposedriven #businessintegrity #leadwithintegrity #ethics #compliance https://lnkd.in/gt38y8r6

Deloitte's latest update to their longitudinal survey of Gen Z’s and Millennials is yet another reminder that the workforce is increasingly becoming purpose- and values-driven. Wise business leaders will make sure that their companies are doing the same. In the Deloitte study, a whopping 89% of Millennials said that “having a sense of purpose is very or somewhat important to their job satisfaction.” A surprising 43% have actually rejected a work assignment based on their personal beliefs. Similar findings were true for Gen Z respondents. We’ve all seen the stories of employees becoming more vocal and “walking with their feet” over workplace matters that they considered to be wrong. The implications of these trends for the business community are huge. In our research at Ethics & Compliance Initiative (ECI), we have found that when employees' and organizations' personal sense of purpose and values align, employees are more likely to commit to their jobs, and they are more likely to report suspected wrongdoing when it occurs. Yet sadly, almost 40% of employees in our studies say that they do not see a strong commitment to values in their organization. Very few employees can name the purpose that their organization espouses. It seems to me that a focus on purpose and values (for both an organization and its employees) are now an essential part of the recruitment and retention of talent. What do you think? #corporatepurpose #corevalues #generationaldifferences

Recently, much of the nation's attention has been focused on what our laws mean and how/when they should be enforced. Few may know that May 1 is “Law Day.” The holiday and the whole month of May is a time to celebrate and study the rule of law in the United States. Ethics & Compliance Initiative (ECI) salutes our members and the legal community who daily defend ethics, compliance and the practice of law. https://hubs.li/Q02vNqJh0 #may1st #lawday #ethics #compliance #integrity#thelaw

Ethics & Compliance Initiative (ECI) reposted this
🌟Tuesday Date Night🌟: Yesterday, I attended a great webinar hosted by Ethics & Compliance Initiative (ECI) and presented by Pat Harned, CEO of ECI, and Carrie Penman, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer of NAVEX . They both discussed the importance of a strong #speakup culture and identified some of the major roadblocks companies face today. ‼️According to recent studies published by Ethics & Compliance Initiative (ECI) only 8% of employees globally believe that they work in a strong speak-up culture. This is an alarming statistic! ✅My takeaways from yesterday's webinar revolve around the three Ts: #Trust, #Transparency, and #Training. Building a speak-up culture is the responsibility of all of us. Thank you to Pat, and Carrie for the valuable information and your time, and ECI for arranging this one👏. Let's work together to create a #culture where everyone feels comfortable speaking up and where their voices are heard. #speakup #culture #trust #transparency #training #integrity #ethics #compliance #peoplefirst #culturematters #leadership #webinar #development #awareness #trainings

If you missed it, earlier this year we released a report from Global Business Ethics Survey® data with some alarming findings: ❗ Just 8% of employees globally believe that they work in a strong speak-up culture. This has dangerous implications for misconduct, reporting, and overall risk to an organization. Tomorrow, Pat Harned and Carrie Penman will discuss the state of speak-up culture, and the roadblocks companies face today. Register now to attend or receive the recording! https://lnkd.in/eEDPYE5D #webinar #speakup #workplaceculture #ECInitiative #GBES
