Our business model has been highly focused on recyclability and the conservation of natural resources, which has enabled us to be a good neighbor and successfully build products with sustainability in mind.

Updates

  • East Penn would like to give a shout-out to our medical staff, who were recently recognized by the Miller-Keystone Blood Center as a Local Leader. Miller-Keystone recently gave annual awards to recognize organizations for supporting the blood center’s lifesaving mission. Our partnership with Miller-Keystone is a longstanding one. It’s made possible by the dedicated people who coordinate our monthly blood drives, as well as generous employees who donate blood. Thanks to their efforts, this is the ninth straight year that Miller-Keystone has honored East Penn with this award. In 2023, East Penn employees donated 706 units—nearly seven percent more than the year before—from hosting 12 blood drives. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Miller-Keystone and supporting its lifesaving mission.

  • Have you ever hopped in your car after it’s been baking in the summer sun? It’s HOT! Even on a 75-degree day, car interiors can reach up to 120 degrees after 90 minutes. The same goes for commercial truck batteries. Like a car sitting in the sun, battery boxes in today’s commercial trucks can reach temps as high as 160 degrees. Truck drivers shouldn’t be put in that kind of hot seat. By utilizing technology, like Fahrenheit® commercial batteries, trucks can keep running under these extreme heat conditions, keeping driver’s cool and deliveries moving. https://lnkd.in/egDDKy9u

  • On International Women in Engineering Day, East Penn would like to celebrate all of the women in our Engineering departments, like Megan and Natalie, for their incredible contributions to our company. As an Application Engineer, Natalie leads and participates in customer qualification projects such as design improvements to various battery components, new batteries, and new lines for our customers. She also devotes time to representing East Penn in the community by participating in the United Way of Berks County. As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, Megan has enjoyed collaborating with her coworkers across the company, tackling interesting projects and is looking forward to being a part of a few upcoming lithium-ion development projects. East Penn appreciates Natalie, Megan, and all of the engineers across the company who help the company innovate and move forward into a diverse energy landscape.

East Penn would like to congratulate our first group of graduates from our Level 1 English as a Second Language (ESL) program! With guidance from their training teams, plant management, and our partner, the Berks Literacy Council, this group of six employees took time during their shifts to improve their English skills and set themselves up for further success. Kudos to them for putting in the hard work over 10 weeks! East Penn looks forward to continue working with the Berks Literacy Council to assist future employees in both levels of our ESL program.
