#ICYMI: Drug Topics recently spoke with Steve Postal, JD, director of policy and regulatory affairs at the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), about the organization's work helping independent #pharmacies advocate for #change in the #pharmacy benefits space, as well as curtailing the power of pharmacy benefit managers (#PBMs). In this clip, Postal discusses the fruits of the NCPA's labor in influencing #PBM reform. Passed in the House in December, the Transparency Act—which generally prohibits PBMs from engaging in certain practices when managing #prescription drug benefits under a health #insurance plan—is now awaiting final passage into #law. Elsewhere in the #legislative landscape, Express Scripts has announced it is suspending its bonus pool fee program. "This came from a result of advocacy from NCPA to [Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services]...[and] is definitely a good win," says Postal. Check out the full podcast here: https://lnkd.in/eYriMf9U
