We had an amazing career exposure day with our scholars at Madison Square Garden Sports Corp. hosted by the New York Knicks! The day was also packed with inspiration and enlightenment from Walt “Clyde” Frazier and Tracy Morgan. Our 3rd Annual Luncheon Fundraiser featured four of the most iconic legends in New York sports history. Lawrence "LT" Taylor, Walt "Clyde" Frazier, Senator Bill Bradley, and Dr. Dick Barnett. Each of these gentlemen has two championship rings, and more importantly, their hearts and hands have been active in the New York City community helping our youth ever since they came here. The afternoon featured many special guests, including some of our top scholars, and was powered by several loyal sponsors. We were able to raise over $100,000 to benefit the Dr. Richard Barnett Foundation and The Walt Frazier Youth Foundation. Thank you to everyone who came out to support us and our kids! Last week at the Spurs Sports & Entertainment @New York Knicks game at MSG, Dr. Barnett had a chance to meet w/ fellow Indiana native and basketball legend Gregg Popovich. These two icons have a deep respect and admiration for one another. They’re both also great men whose hearts and hands are very active in their communities. @National Basketball Association (NBA)
