Today, we celebrate ten years with "Dan the Man"—Dan Reisinger! Dan joined our team as a project engineer in our Seattle office. Today, he resides in Makawao, Hawaii, and contributes to our island work and other projects nationwide as a member of our digital construction team. Besides being a whiz at the digital side of construction, Dan is also a bit of a "Renaissance man." He's a paddler for his local outrigger canoe club, plays the French horn in some community bands, and is an avid dad dog to pup Missy. Colleagues say Dan is calm, collected, and quiet—traits that make him an amazing listener, leader, and mentor. One co-worker shared, "When Dan has something to say, people listen because it's always thoughtful and impactful." Thank you for ten wonderful years, Dan! Your contributions have been felt company-wide, and we value your kindness, positivity, and hard work. You truly are "the man!" We’re excited to participate in this year’s Seattle Design Festival with long-time friends and collaborators Olson Kundig. This year’s theme challenged participants to imagine “What If...”. Inspired by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, Puget Sound, and the Pacific Ocean, the team got creative and landed on a wild one: What if you were swallowed by a whale? 🐋 “Between Baleen” is a fully immersive sensory installation that explores the humbling scale of ocean life and honors the ecosystem of our local waters. Experience the dense screen of rope and extruded film that simulates whale baleen and feel the weight of hung rope as if engulfed in the mouth of a whale. Visit Between Baleen at Lake Union Park in Seattle, Wash., the weekend of August 17-18. In collaboration with Net Your Problem LLC and Western Washington University’s Polymer Materials Engineering program, the installation uses recycled ocean plastics and will be repurposed again to achieve zero-footprint impact. Between Baleen is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the ocean life of the Pacific Northwest while highlighting the efforts of organizations that recycle and repurpose ocean plastics in partnership with the fishing industry. Today, we're raising a toast to Coby V., who has been with us for ten years! Starting as an on-site project engineer in 2014, Coby quickly made a mark at Dowbuilt by integrating digital modeling into our traditional build process. His innovative approach earned him the respect of our build teams and a well-deserved promotion to Director of Digital Construction. Today, Coby is our Vice President of Technology, leading a dynamic team of 20 out of our Seattle office. Beyond his professional achievements, Coby's passion for architecture, construction, and technology is matched only by his love for the great outdoors. On weekends and holidays, you'll find him skiing, climbing, and exploring some of the world's most amazing mountains. His recent adventure? A trek up Ama Dablam's South West Ridge in Nepal, one of the Himalayas' most stunning and challenging climbing routes. Coby embodies the "Go BIG or go home" spirit. His energy, commitment, and drive inspire us all. He's not just a leader at work; he's also a dedicated community member. Coby actively volunteers, contributing to initiatives like Sawhorse Revolution, Seattle Design Festival and Do Good Sh*t, a nonprofit focused on improving waste management in mountain recreation areas worldwide. On a recent trip to Nepal, he helped design and build a compostable toilet/bathroom in Phortse (pictured below). Coby, we cherish your alpine adventure stories, signature backflips, and unwavering dedication to our team. Thank you for your innovative mind and positive leadership. Here's to many more years of success and adventure! 🎉 #employeeappreciation #workanniversary #dowbuilt #dowbuilt_people #dowbuilt_sea #dowbuilt_culture #dowbuilt_careers #construction
