Leading military tactical teams around the world call on a mesh radio MANET (mobile ad-hoc network) to support the use of situational awareness platforms like TAK to share high-bandwidth data in real time and coordinate missions safely and swiftly. But for some federal groups and many state and local public safety outfits with limiting budgets, there hasn't existed a viable option in the space. Low-end IP Radios only offer low-throughput functionality for dots on a map and possibly voice comms. The exorbitant price-tag of high-end options (up to $20k a radio) are a budgetary non-starter. iGov assembled its new Low-cost MANET Kit around Doodle Labs' Wearable Mesh Rider Radio to give tactical teams all they need for resilient, long-range connectivity over TAK in challenging environments, and come in under $5,000 all-in for the radio + EUD + custom headset.

"Small, inexpensive drones, frequently equipped with first-person viewpoint (FPV) technology, are increasingly being deployed effectively on the battlefield in lieu of manned aircraft or missiles, which are more expensive by several orders of magnitude. However, one problem with these unmanned aircraft is the ease with which the enemy can jam their radio signals, causing them to miss their targets or crash. [Doodle Labs] is working to develop solutions to this problem, offering anti-jamming technology for use by Ukraine and allied nations." Read the full story from DroneLife: https://hubs.la/Q02FScdM0

Doodle Labs' patent-pending Sense technology is engineered to actively monitor in-band interference like RF jamming or wi-fi noise and automatically switch channels or frequency bands to find the best-performing frequency. This feature-set, when combined with Mesh Rider's LPI/LPD (Low Probability of Intercept/Low Probability of Detection) waveform, ensures uninterrupted communication and enhances the operational efficiency of these advanced systems in the fields of defense, public safety and commercial industry. "The way jamming works, in simple terms as compared to audio, it's as if somebody turns on a really, really loud speaker right next to you and you can't even hear yourself talk. That's basically the principle of electronic warfare, or jamming. So, you can't control the drone, you cannot land it and normally, radio control and video signal jamming goes hand-in-hand with GPS jamming. So if you have a system that isn't capable of GPS-denied navigation and isn't capable of radio link resilience, then that system can be lost literally tens of meters from the takeoff point."
