Our Phoenix Regional Office has made a difference with their recent back-to-school drive! Teaming up with the City of Scottsdale’s Back to School Program, they provided essential school supplies to 12 children in need. Each child received a backpack filled with the necessary supplies to start the 2024 school year off right. Upper Post Flats was recently featured in the Summer 2024 issue of Preservation Magazine by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Once an esteemed army barracks, Upper Post Flats has been transformed with the help of BKV Group, revitalizing 26 structures from the late 19th and early 20th centuries located at the historic landmark Fort Snelling in St. Paul, Minnesota. Today, Upper Post Flats proudly offers 192 affordable apartment homes, with a preference for military members, veterans, first responders, and their families. Residents now reside in a community that not only provides affordable housing but also pays homage to the history embedded in its foundations. Check out the latest aerial view showcasing the progress at The Safford in Marana, Arizona. Upon completion, The Safford will provide 200 high-quality, affordable apartment homes, designed with families in mind. It will mark the first affordable, multifamily new construction in Marana in the last 20 years. The community will feature amenities such as a swimming pool, fitness center, and private patios or balconies with every unit. We are excited to bring much-needed affordable housing to the city of Marana and eagerly anticipate the completion of this project. Dominium’s Phoenix Regional Office corporate employees swapped their cubicles for our Casa Azure community for a day! Our team rolled up their sleeves to assist Casa Azure’s property management team in moving seniors into their new homes in Phoenix. This was a fantastic opportunity for our teams to unite and experience firsthand the immense effort that goes into building and operating affordable housing. Government Relations Manager & Team Lead Sarah Shambrook shared, “While navigating the often-divisive public process surrounding affordable housing development can be challenging, it’s incredibly rewarding to witness the tangible results of our efforts and hear residents share their excitement about their new homes.” Development Associate Rodrigo Dorador also reflected, “I had the opportunity to witness my colleagues walk future residents through the application process, put the finishing touches on homes ready to welcome new residents, and even help a resident identify the accessible route near her home.” We are immensely proud of all the hard work our teams do here at Dominium. Casa Azure, along with Aviara Flats, are adding over 500 homes to the City of Phoenix’s affordable housing options.
