Ditto’s is the easiest way to build resilient peer-to-peer sync into your collaborative and data-sharing mobile apps.
About us
Ditto’s Edge Sync Platform is the easiest way to build resilient peer-to-peer sync into your collaborative and data-sharing apps. --- We’ve always been inspired by the power of innovative apps that bring people together. Developers who dreamed up big ideas have created entirely new industries and enriched the lives of friends, families, customers, and coworkers. Today, the best apps are the ones that help us collaborate on projects, share moments, and communicate effortlessly. But app developers often face significant challenges creating these seamless, interconnected experiences. Whether wrestling with unpredictable internet connections or building complex and expensive backends, app developers have grappled with many complications that stand in the way of delivering magical experiences to their users. So we built Ditto, a platform for developers to build powerful ways to connect and sync apps with or without an internet connection and even without writing a single line of backend code.

How important will Flutter be to the future of enterprise app development? As businesses increasingly prioritize efficient cross-platform solutions, Flutter stands out for its user-friendly design, speed, and adaptability. It allows companies and developers to streamline development, reducing time and costs while ensuring a consistent cross-platform experience. Today, we’re excited to announce the beta release of Ditto’s Flutter SDK, available for both iOS and Android. This beta further enhances the consistency of end-user experience with built-in peer-to-peer networking and sync features. This means that Flutter developers can now build multiplatform applications that reliably sync regardless of connectivity. Critical systems shouldn’t have a single point of failure. Today’s CrowdStrike outage underscores the vulnerability of implementing systems with a single point of failure. A routine software update shouldn’t be able to paralyze so many businesses. We should all be thinking about building more resilient systems. Working with airlines like Delta Air Lines and organizations like the United States Air Force has taught me: Resiliency comes from redundancy. I believe applications deployed at the edge should be able to function independently of a central authority such as a server or cloud system. That’s why Ditto’s distributed database has built-in peer-to-peer networking. If your system goes down, those on the ground can keep working, even without the cloud, internet, or Wi-Fi. Our mobile phones have become so advanced that it no longer makes sense to keep them as ‘dumb’ clients. They have the computing power and the networking hardware in them to create resilient networks and keep data flowing even when there are issues further up your network stack. Edge device sync may not have solved all of today’s IT issues. But it reminds us that the current way we build systems is surprisingly brittle. #p2p #cloudoptional #mesh #resilience
