National Tequila Day may have passed but as Mike Snider points out, the popular spirit may not need a special day to be celebrated due to its growing demand. Check out this great USA TODAY article below: https://lnkd.in/gaF8gVH4

1,300+ Nebraskans could lose their jobs if the governor's proposal to increase spirits taxes by more than 280% goes through. Don't take our word for it - listen to local craft distiller Zac Triemert, of Brickway Brewery & Distillery, on how this increase would devastate their business.

We are toasting to #NationalTequilaDay with #DISCUSMember 818 Spirits, the distinguished, hand-crafted tequila brand founded by Kendall Jenner. While 818 signifies Kendall's home area code, the brand’s mission embraces the global community. The tequila is produced by a family-owned distillery in the Amatitán region in Jalisco, Mexico, that is the third largest grower of Blue Weber agave and largest grower of organic Blue Weber agave. 818 features four exquisite varieties – Blanco, Reposado, Añejo and the ultra-premium Eight Reserve. All blends of 818 are designed around their iconic taste: smooth, versatile and sippable. 818’s dedicated commitment to quality and sustainability is reflected in the brand’s 1% for the Planet initiative and partnership with S.A.C.R.E.D., a nonprofit supporting Mexican communities where heritage agave spirits are crafted. For National Tequila Day, 818 is shaking up the classics with a host of refreshing cocktails. Check out a couple of our favorites: 818 Espresso Martini: 1 oz 818 Tequila Reposado 1.5 oz Candied Pecan Cold Brew Concentrate 0.5 oz Coffee Liquor 0.25 oz Cinnamon & Simple Syrup Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake for 15-20 seconds until frosty. Strain into a chilled martini or coupe glass, garnish with three espresso beans and #CelebrateResponsibly. 818 Tequila Mule: 1 oz 818 Tequila Blanco 0.25 oz Fresh Lime Juice 1.5 oz Ginger Beer Mint leave (garnish) Lime wheel (garnish) Combine all ingredients in a shaker and shake. Pour over ice in a copper mule glass and top with ginger beer. Garnish with a lime wheel and/or mint leaves and #EnjoyResponsibly.

Momentum is building for increasing consumer access to spirits RTDs. Interesting nugget from this article: “RTD spirits & liquor were also the only alcohol category retailers felt upbeat about in an April Goldman Sachs survey that drew responses from about 35,000 convenience stores.” https://lnkd.in/e9MWM9Y2

BIG NEWS: Governor Josh Shapiro signed #SB688 which means Pennsylvania consumers will be able to purchase their favorite spirits #RTDs where they already buy beer and wine. That means an additional 10,000 outlets could start selling these popular products - increasing consumer choice and convenience across #Pennsylvania. Read more: https://bit.ly/3SfszKN

Distilled Spirits Council of the United States reposted this
Peanut Butter, Salted Caramel, Mango Habanero... this is not foodstuff I'm talking about, but American whiskies with the aforesaid flavours . These and some exciting new Bourbon, Rye, Tennessee whiskies, Vodka and Rum were showcased by the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States with Nikhil Agarwal in New Delhi recently. Given that American Spirits export to high-tariff countries like India, Vietnam, and Brazil stands barely at $69.2 million (3% of its total spirits export in 2022), India with its spirits market size of US$ 29.8 bn is a fertile playing ground for imported spirits, notwithstanding the country's booming domestic production. But identifying the right fit for the market would be important as always, and showcasings like these are a great way to proceed ahead. #americanwhiskey #spiritsfromtheus #discus Sharing my latest blog post that tries to capture the essence of the event... https://lnkd.in/g8KwCYUM

Cheers to #WorldRumDay! Though first produced in Barbados, the dark spirit is now produced all around the globe🌎, with a variety of styles. No matter where it is made, the spirit must be made from sugar cane—whether it is sugar cane juice, sugar cane syrup or sugar cane molasses. Each country or region has its own rules and regulations for producing the liquor, and not to mention distinct production methods and traditions. In recent years, distillers have experimented with flavored rums, making the category more versatile!
