In December 2022, our team made the decision to put our restaurant takeaway container service on hold to focus on other parts of our business. It was an extremely difficult decision, and one that our CEO Lindsey Hoell did not take lightly. And the big question, of course, is why? Why would we choose to stop our reusable takeaway container service when it was the very idea that brought Dispatch to life? We wanted to be transparent, so our latest blog explains all the reasons we chose to part ways with restaurants. You can read the blog post here ---> https://lnkd.in/g4EYC3D6 And while it is bittersweet, we are so proud of what we have accomplished: we have diverted 5.76 million items from the waste stream to date, and we will continue on our mission to make the biggest environmental impact possible. 💪 EDIT: I'm getting personal DMs, and to clarify, Dispatch Goods is alive and growing quickly! Just not with restaurants ;) #plasticfreejuly #startup #plasticfree #savetheearth #saveouroceans

Our team is mission-driven, no doubt. We wanted to make the biggest impact possible right away, and we wanted to go after anything and everything. But, as Lindsey Hoell notes in her interview on the podcast Someone Like You Podcast, you have to practice some discipline in order to be big enough to have the impact you want. 💚 Check out Lindsey's full interview here ---> https://lnkd.in/gnWAeJsa

We did a deep dive into some of our partners' online reviews, and we found that their customers LOVE to return their packaging. 💚 Consumers are more aware than ever of the plastic pollution crisis, and they are holding companies accountable. While it is difficult to implement an in-house returnable packaging solution, Dispatch Goods makes it plug and play for businesses. Thanks CookUnity, Misfits Market, and Vegetable + Butcher for being amazing partners and helping us save the earth! 🌎 Read more on our blog here --> https://lnkd.in/g92U7-SN

Recommerce is on the rise. Clothing marketplace ThredUp estimates that the U.S. secondhand market will reach $73 billion by 2028, increasing an average of 11% annually. It's a good thing, too: purchasing secondhand not only saves items from the waste stream, but it also cuts down on large amounts of carbon emissions. Some of our favorite recommerce marketplaces (besides ThredUp) include: - SidelineSwap - GoodBuy Gear - Kidizen - Back Market - Poshmark - The RealReal Which ones are your favorite? Let us know in the comments below. 👇 Also, check out our latest blog post on how embracing recommerce can make a huge environmental impact --> https://lnkd.in/gYv8m6DS 🌎 💚

💡Embracing reusable foodware isn't just environmentally friendly; according to Matt Littlejohn of Oceana, it can be a sound financial decision for businesses, too. Many are already familiar with the idea that reusables save money compared to disposables by reducing replacement costs over time. But they can also be leveraged as assets, just like any other durable equipment. It's a powerful way of reframing how we think about the economics of reuse for business audiences. 🌍💚 Revisit this rich discussion on how we define reuse for policymakers and others at https://lnkd.in/dDQHgUEe #sustainablebusiness #financialwisdom #zerowaste #throwawayfree #breakfreefromplastic #reusable #EPR #DRS #reusablepackaging #climatelegislation #greenlegislation #circulareconomy #recyclingisnotenough #plasticfree #plasticpollution #climate #environment #solutions #climatechange #extendedproducerresponsibility #savetheplanet #weheartreuse #indisposable #upstreamsolutions #reusewins
