As a leader in STEM education, Discovery Place builds bridges for young learners to engage in inquiry-based education in our museums and communities.   Thank you, Bank of America, for your support in helping us to build a love of learning through STEM education to inspire and prepare future generations of critical thinkers and innovators to solve real-world challenges.

Girls Day Out is a STEM program created in partnership with Discovery Place and Bank of America that promotes female interest and representation in the science, technology, engineering, and math professions. These students spend the day learning about professional opportunities within these fields, hearing from and about women who are making their mark on the world in their STEM professions, and exploring some basic concepts and ideas leading the way in these industries! #ExcellenceCMS

Today we broke ground on a new nature museum! 🎉   Discovery Place celebrated a groundbreaking event with a ceremonial tree planting 🌱 for what will be a new nature haven and world-class environmental education center serving the Carolinas.   Joining the celebration were officials from the state of North Carolina, Mecklenburg County and City of Charlotte along with Discovery Place Board of Trustee Members and supporters of the new nature museum.   “The original building that housed Charlotte’s nature museum opened more than 70 years ago,” said Catherine Wilson Horne, Discovery Place President & CEO. “Our city has grown exponentially in a way that most cities can only dream about since that time, and we are thrilled to have finally broken ground on what will be a true cultural amenity and destination for Charlotte residents and visitors alike.”   🌳 Learn more about the new nature museum ➡ https://lnkd.in/dP8Uepig
