About us

The Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights is dedicated to teaching the history of the Holocaust and advancing human rights to combat prejudice, hatred, and indifference. A not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) since 1984, we were first known as the Dallas Memorial Center for Holocaust Studies. In 2005, the renamed Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance opened at its transitional location in the historic West End district. The Museum hosted more than 86,000 visitors in 2017, among them 36,000 school children. A top-rated attraction in North Texas, the Museum is one of just a few Holocaust-related museums or centers in the United States and the only Holocaust museum serving North Central Texas, as well as the adjacent states of Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.

  • Due to the overwhelming excitement and support for our "In Her Shoes" honorees, we are thrilled to announce that we have expanded our list of honorees and will be recognizing four additional game-changing women in DFW who have made remarkable contributions to their fields and communities. These women, like our initial honorees, are pioneers, innovators, and role models who have paved the way for others with their dedication, resilience, and achievements. Their stories deserve to be highlighted and celebrated alongside those we've already honored. Starting May 23, you can explore the stories of each honoree and discover the pair of shoes from the “Walk this Way: Footwear from the Stuart Weitzman Collection of Historic Shoes” special exhibition that symbolizes their contributions to their respective fields. #InHerShoes
