Our operations capital improvement team recently completed upgrades to our K-8 school playgrounds thanks to the financial investments by the district as approved by our Board of Education through our anchor investments. This means that our students and community now have access to high quality play spaces that not only bring safe and fun to recess, but also enhance the beauty of our schools and our neighborhoods. Construction is underway for one of DPSCD's newest additions, the Southeastern High School Annex as part of our Facility Master Plan. As the school year came to an end, we took the opportunity to celebrate new beginnings. In a crowd full of students, alumni, elected officials, media, and our community, the district proudly shared our commitment to DPSCD Students' RISE. Recently, the Offices of Operations and Procurement partnered to host a vendor fair where we welcomed local businesses who met our teams, learned about our developing projects, and most importantly learned how they could become an operations vendor with DPSCD. In 2019, Detroit Public Schools Community District engaged in meaningful conversations with our community regarding the state of our school facilities based on score from a comprehensive facility condition assessment. Through these valuable discussions, we gained insights into the community's priorities for our schools. Today, we are proud to continue this collaborative effort and are executing our 20-year vision for the District's facilities, along with a range of additional investments aimed at making this vision a reality.
