Over 60 Years of Design Excellence

About us

Well-designed spaces rely on the strength of their interconnected systems. Neglecting any one of those systems can jeopardize an entire community. We know that a place’s power to help heal, educate and grow a community lies in the ability of its creators to work interdependently across disciplines and industries. We believe that relationships always eclipse projects, and together we create exceptional designs that elevate the communities we serve. Because projects are always about more than just the building.

We have an exciting announcement to make 🥁... We are now Dekker! 🎉 Our name has changed—our 65+ years of design expertise hasn’t. “Dekker represents a theme of innovation over more than 65 years. But most of all, it represents a commitment to moving our communities forward: championed daily by Dale Dekker and embodied by every member of the team.”—Emily Allen, Chief Financial Officer The new name is an evolution of our brand: a reflection of our history, and a roadmap for what’s next. It’s not a change to our operations or team. Together, we’ll continue creating places and spaces with a problem focused, human centered approach. #ArchitectureInProgress Head on over to our website to learn more about the change: https://lnkd.in/g4hWmaAH

Designing for Career Technical Education (CTE) spaces starts with challenging the notion of what a classroom looks like. When a classroom takes the shape of a car shop or welding studio, the design team needs expertise in not only education design—but also technical knowledge of key elements in those specialized training fields. For the 33,000sf renovation of Eastern New Mexico University's Automotive and Welding Technology Building, our education studio teamed up with our commercial studio to design spaces that not only facilitated learning, but also accurately represented real commercial settings. Support from our in-house structural engineering team led to a design that accommodates heavy machinery, like automotive four-post and two-post lifts. CTE is just one example of how our team works together across areas of expertise, creating better designs for our clients and their communities. Project success starts with partnership. The right mix of expertise from consultants and in-house knowledge means even better buildings for clients and the people who inhabit these spaces every day. Recently, a dynamic partnership with Crime Lab Design at HERA laboratory planners led to an equally dynamic project: a new Forensic Laboratory for the State of New Mexico Department of Public Safety. Complementing our own expertise in public safety and human-centered design, Crime Lab Design's specialized design solutions for lab spaces addressed scientist fatigue, maximizing safety without isolating team members, and more. It was great to have such fruitful conversations about adaptive reuse. Thank you NAIOP New Mexico Chapter for a fantastic luncheon!

✨ We struck gold at our July Luncheon, "From Old to Gold!" ✨ Thank you to everyone who joined us to explore the magic of adaptive reuse. Our industry experts, including Ron Patel (New Mexico United President), Brian Patterson, P.E. (Titan Development, Ltd.), Benjamin Gardner (Dekker), Matt Procter (Improve Group), Sal Perdomo (Titan Development, Ltd.), and David Shaffer (AIC General Contractor), shared incredible insights on transforming existing buildings and land into valuable community assets. The discussions on innovative and sustainable strategies truly inspired us all. 🌿🏙️💛 A special shoutout to our sponsors Bank of Albuquerque, Modulus Architects & Land Use Planning, Inc., Pavilion Construction, Studio Southwest Architects, Colliers, and Bradbury Stamm Construction for making this event a tremendous success! Missed out? Check out our next events! 🌐 naiopnm.org/events #AdaptiveReuse #UrbanRevitalization #NAIOPNM

We’re thrilled to share that the renovation of the Maricopa County Administration Building was recognized and received the Illuminating Engineering Society #Phoenix Chapter’s Illumination Award for Interior Lighting Design! B&P was given the opportunity to provide #mechanical #electrical #plumbing & #technology design services for this 11-story, 260,515 SF facility. This award recognizes how the building’s LED lighting can provide significant energy savings for multi-level office buildings, ultimately supporting our commitment to designing our projects for sustainability. We are especially honored to receive this award, as it reflects how our designs were centered around energy and environmental design in addition to reinforcing the building’s architectural environment. The building’s lighting control system was designed to meet the latest energy efficiency requirements and enhance the well-being for occupants, meeting the project’s design & budget requirements while maintaining performance and aesthetic integrity. Thank you to our amazing B&P team for their hard work on this project. Bridgers & Paxton was also a proud sponsor of the awards ceremony and were honored to celebrate the evening with the other award recipients. #Arizona #engineering

Our education studio recently had the privilege of not only joining the Alamogordo Public Schools for the groundbreaking ceremony of Holloman Middle School, but also the opportunity to present the design to Col. John T. Ethridge and Col. Alfred J. Rosales  - Commander & Deputy Commander of the 49th Wing at Holloman Air Force Base. Guided by the concept of “flight”, the new middle school features a shaded outdoor learning area providing students and staff with an additional educational tool to encourage outdoor learning, as well as an interior lecture stair and flexible collaboration areas that encourages and fosters 21st century learning and collaboration among them. We are beyond humbled by the community's engagement and authentic desire to improve upon the educational needs of all their students and are proud that we are able to assist the mission of the Fighting 49ers by providing a world class learning facility for the Alamogordo Public Schools. #HereForTheKids #EducationDesign
