It's so rewarding to see our work make a positive impact in Deer Creek School District. In 2023, the Deer Creek Schools Foundation was selected as a grant recipient from the Donna Nigh Foundation for a communication board for Prairie Vale's playground to assist Deer Creek's special needs students in communicating with their peers and teachers during recess. We were delighted on Tuesday to host former Oklahoma Governor George Nigh and the former First Lady Donna Nigh, along with staff from the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, who toured Deer Creek Prairie Vale to see the communication board and meet some of our students. They also visited the Deer Creek Transition Center to learn more about how the Transition Center prepares special needs students for life beyond high school. We are so grateful for support from the Donna Nigh Foundation! #DeerCreekProud #ThankYou #Grateful

Celebrating our educators is easy! We had the pleasure of recognizing our site Teachers of the Year, and announcing our 2024 District Teacher of the Year last night. Congratulations to Mrs. Nikki-Foley Gilbert who will represent Deer Creek at the state level! Each of these outstanding teachers brings expertise, heart, and dedication to our schools. We are glad they choose to be Antlers!
