The Data Foundation is proud to endorse the Improving Government Data-Driven Decisions Act (H.R. 8751), a bipartisan bill introduced by Reps. Larry Bucshon (R-IN) and Debbie Dingell (D-MI). This legislation aims to enhance state-level data infrastructure, authorizing $41 million annually through FY2028 for grants to improve data management, analytics, and security in state governments. Our new Center directors weigh in: ✅ Sara Stefanik, Center for Evidence Capacity: "This act addresses a critical need, transforming how governments operate and empowering states to make evidence-based decisions." ✅ Corinna Turbes, Center for Data Policy: "This bill leverages federal leadership to enhance state-level data infrastructure, creating a foundation for data-driven decision-making nationwide." For the Data Foundation and our community of partners, H.R. 8751 is a crucial step towards more effective, efficient, and responsive state governance.
