Nurturing Wellbeing with Every Meal We Serve
About us
Since 1996, Cura has been curating dining service programs specific to each client’s needs, taking the worry of guest safety and satisfaction, employee development, operational and fiscal challenges off of our clients’ plates. As our client’s needs evolve, so do we. We are a company of experienced dining services professionals that came together under one name in 2019, previously doing business as Cura, A’viands and Valley Services, providing services in Life Plan Communities, and Acute Care. Cura is now part of Elior North America where, together, we are small enough to care and big enough to make a difference.

Serve this decadent chocolate brownie cake at your July 4th party homemade with love by Joyce Fisher, the food service director at TOPEKA PRESBYTERIAN MANOR in Kansas, who plays a very important role in the absence of her executive chef. Cura's Connections Memory Support Dining offers culinary innovations to encourage nutrition. As swallowing difficulties are common symptoms of Alzheimer's Disease, Cura’s Puree Creations meets the challenges of adequately nourishing patients who experience dysphagia. “Memory-impaired residents should never be restricted from the look and taste of real food,” says Cura Corporate Executive Chef Lance Franklin, who recently conducted training for chefs and cooks at St. Catherine's Village in Madison, MS, where they learned the latest techniques to create artful food presentations! Cura’s goal is to serve the puréed version of whatever is on the regular resident menu, be it beef, fish, spaghetti or pie (Pictured Here). #Alzheimersandbrainawareness #seniorliving #diningexperience #memorycare #memorysupport #pureedfood Read more about Connections here in Western Pennsylvania Healthcare News! https://lnkd.in/e255anQ9

Cura's Signature Connections Memory Support Dining Program engages residents with Conversation Starters! Shawn Keilholtz, a Menno Haven memory home activities team member, is pictured here using the popular tool with a resident in Chambersburg, PA. These unique 5×8 cards feature full-color retro photos along with a series of questions that a staff member can ask a resident to help them make “connections” to something similar in their past. “When we use the Connections Conversation Starters during mealtime it really gets the memory care residents engaged and talking about all sorts of topics,” says Menno Haven Clinical Supervisor of Memory Care Homes Joseph Setaro II, LPN, CDP. “We also use the yellow plates in the Memory care homes which help the residents see where their food is on the table,” Setaro adds. #alzheimersandbrainawareness #seniorliving #diningexperience #memorycare #memorysupport Read more about Connections here in Western Pennsylvania Healthcare News! https://lnkd.in/e255anQ9
