Believe it or not, our #summerinternship program is almost finished and we want to highlight the students who made it great!💡 Jenna Pirro, currently a sophomore, is a Finance major at Florida State University - College of Business with a passion for entrepreneurship and design. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Jenna loves to travel and explore different cultures. Jenna was "excited to learn real-life business skills and contribute to such impactful projects" this semester. For the first time in our program, we welcomed an additional Finance major, Michael Scaramuzzo, a Junior from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Michael has "always had an interest in learning how businesses manage money and make key decisions regarding budgeting and managing assets.” Throughout the summer, Michael executed projects with these decisions in mind. Joining us for another semester was Giuliana Sarcone, who spearheaded our marketing strategy for Impact Week 2024. We were super excited to have Giuliana back, and are looking forward to her continued creativity! Finally, for another ‘first’, we proudly welcomed Amelia Sewell a Junior studying Economics and Sustainability at the University of Florida. An Orlando native, Amelia developed an interest in macroeconomic trends and small business success while working at a local bagel shop. Her hobbies include composting and gardening, which inspired her double major. We are grateful for the cohesion between our #interns, as well as the hard work they have been putting forth. #THANKYOU from CBG!💻 (NOT PICTURED: Michael Scaramuzzo, Giuliana Sarcone)

One of the most misunderstood concepts in business is #strategy. Ask any novice, or the common professional, to describe it and they’ll say things like “strategy is planning”, or “it’s the correct approach to a problem”, but that’s not quite it. Goals, an action plan, a growth tactic, the team’s mission; strategy has to be disassociated from these terms. This is a huge problem that needs solving...

It’s 2004, and a lot is going on. September 11th is still a fresh memory in the American psyche. All the kids are playing Pokémon on beat-up GameBoys, waiting for new releases from Japan. And what’s this about social networking? MySpace? Facebook? With everything going on, you decide that it’s time to do some business…

As we reflect on our latest Internship Program this past semester, we would like to highlight the journey and successes of our interns! This semester, we challenged our interns with multiple tasks, including business planning, event management, advertisement, and various research initiatives. See below the skills these future leaders accomplished during their time with us: - Veronica Zasloff: A senior majoring in MIS and RMI excelled in creating a marketing and strategic plan for our local business OneLink. - Lukas Guerra: A senior majoring in Marketing with a keen eye for film and video editing. Lukas compiled hours of footage into a promo trailer for IMPACT WEEK’s 2024 campaign. - Jenna Kruse: Earning her Master’s in Public Administration, Jenna took on multiple responsibilities and found herself taking center stage at IMPACT WEEK. We are excited to have her return in the Spring to take on another role with Critical Business Group. “To say I am impressed by this group is an understatement; each individual played a crucial part in every project we took on,” said Noah Kalter, a Business Analyst who has been with Critical for almost 2 years. We have had an extremely positive year and are proud to share the following milestones: - Coordination and execution of IMPACT WEEK a week-long event featuring 45+ events and 30+ speakers - OneLink growth of Enterprise Solutions for large agencies and organizations. - Continued focus to and grow small local businesses. - Continued research and implementation of AI tools If you are a student or a young professional we highly encourage you to apply to our Spring Internship Program! We are looking forward to meeting the applicants and are excited for the future! #SpringInternship #Tallahasseework #Business #Development #Jobs

Some mornings I was juicing vegetables and arranging acai bowls. On the alternating days I delved into digital research and practiced insightful business consulting. Almost 2 years ago I started working for Rich Smith and Chad White as an intern with Critical Business Group. I was a Junior at FSU looking for work post-COVID. At the time I was working multiple retail jobs with no deeper purpose. I needed an opportunity to apply myself and grow as a young professional. That's when I saw this same job posting on the Florida State University - College of Business job board. I was one of the first interns at CBG. With no real direction in my professional scope, I took the risk and dove head-first into the world of business development and scaling. I had no portfolio, no metrics, or any success stories. Since I've began with Critical Business Group, here are just a few of things I've accomplished with the team: - Re-designing and consistently evolving our Internship Program - Scaling a local tech start-up business from just after its inception - Independently managed 3 internship cycles in cohesion with management - Established mutual connections with the FSU College of Business - Moderated multiple discussions on Sports and AI, as well as coordinated events, for Global Entrepreneurship Week - Implemented data-driven decision making in our program If you're looking for a transformative experience rather than just another internship to "check-off", I highly encourage you to apply today! #tallahassee #internship #2024 #techstartups #businessdevelopment #FSU

Leaving an Impact can take more than just yourself... ...sometimes, it takes a whole village. This past week in Tallahassee, it took an amazing group of hard working, positive, creative, and all-around inspiring, team of awesome people! Impact week coordinated 45+ events with 50+ speakers at the Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee over the course of last week of which we saw new and familiar faces. Thank you to Domi Station for heading our steering committee and to our hard working interns at Critical Business Group for always showing up ready to engage. We could not have done this without you all! Having the platform and opportunity to moderate two intriguing discussions, on AI and Sports respectively, was such a fulfilling and unique experience. Thank you to Rich Smith and Chad White for always supporting me and allowing me to think creatively! Speaking with Mark McNees and Chad White about the social stigma and the future of AI took me out of my comfort zone, but we truly had a great talk and I loved being a part of the discussion. To Christopher Petley, Ashlee Fontes PhD (abd), and Jason Hendrix, you all brought so much value to our discussion surrounding sports. I have never been a part of such an all-encompassing talk, in which we covered the journey into professional sports, breaking social barriers to entry, the local impact of sports, and mental health. Truly an amazing experience! To Jesslyn Rollins, Ashley Guy, Robyn Yant and Jackie Brown, I just wanted to let you all know how inspiring it was to hear from each of you and your stories. Running a business isn't easy, and being at the helm is even more difficult. Overcoming obstacles is an even greater task, and each of you left me with advice I'll never forget in my professional journey. So grateful you all chose to be a part of Impact Week! Overall, I left this event with loads of valuable lessons and new relationships. Preparing for Impact Week was not easy, but together with great people it just flew by! I guess that holds true when you're having fun! #professionaldevelopment #impact #eventmanagement #networking #tallahassee #sportsbiz #ai #discussion
