✨ Brand storytelling and a little mountain fun ⛰️ (run it back)

Feeling inspired after spending three incredible days in the Utah mountains, reconnecting with old friends and making new ones at BrandStorytelling. One of my favorite quotes from the many educational panels was from Romy Oltuski, who said, "Every company has IP worth sharing, you just need to find it." We at Crispin are excited to push the boundaries of brand-funded entertainment with the insights I've gained.

There is nothing I believe in more than the power of people who dream big. It’s why I believe in Crispin. Our people. Since our new brand launch in April, the team has been digging into what has always made this agency magic. With the lens of leaving the ad industry better than we found it.   After winning SIX NEW clients (more on that soon), hosting internal listening sessions, speaking to trusted advisors including current clients, former employees, brand CMOs, journalists, and more, we sharpened our positioning.   We are a chronically online media and creative agency making brands the conversation.   We can't wait to share more about how this is coming to life in all our client projects, but for now you can take a peek at... www.crispin.com. According to Ben Majoy, the new site is dank. If you don't know what that means, give us a call.

We've heard Utah is nice this time of year. And that Omar Bustos is a great speaker.

Super excited to be attending this year’s BrandStorytelling summer event at the amazing Sundance resort! This marks my third year at this inspiring gathering, and I can't wait to connect with fellow marketers who are passionate about pushing the boundaries of brand-funded entertainment. This year, I have the honor to share the stage with our amazing partners from MilkPEP, GALE and Scout Productions Inc. to present "Dairy Diaries," a five-part series I produced last year. https://lnkd.in/gU9b7RsV

We had an incredible time with our PepsiCo partners at SPORT BEACH 2024🏈🏖️ If you attended this year's event, you may have met "Anna", the Gatorade AI Hydration Coach (who made her debut on the beach!), joined the Gatorade x Alexy Posner HIIT Workout, watched CMO of PepsiCo’s International Beverages Mark Kirkham take the stage alongside Mikaela Shiffrin, tested out the Gatorade sweat patch, or simply fueled up on Gatorade pre, during, and post workout💪 Thank you to our partners at PepsiCo Gatorade for being the official sideline partner of SPORT BEACH 2024 during this year's Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and for their valuable contributions to the beach. Tune into "The Halfway Line: The Brands & Athletes Driving Women's Sport Forward" ft. Mark Kirkham, Mikaela Shiffrin, and Maggie Malek here: https://bit.ly/3VMuGGX #SportBeach2024 #SportBeach #StagwellatCannes

Five things we should all remember.

View profile for Maggie Malek, graphic

    CEO at Crispin

Back to work after a week at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity with the Crispin & Stagwell teams. So many amazing moments, but here are the five things I will remember forever. 1. The vulnerability and humanity shared on stage at Sport Beach: These athletes spend their careers chasing excellence in sport, but behind the medals and accolades are real humans. Humans that are figuring out who they are beyond the athlete, and as brands and agencies we must embrace the whole person. I was humbled to share the stage with so many of them. 2. "Don’t take yourself too seriously," Jason and Travis Kelce said while recording their podcast. Make the creative process fun for everyone involved and create a space that nurtures all ideas. That’s the unlock to authenticity. 3. Best work happens in partnership. When you’ve built mutual trust in each other, the walls come down. We are at our best when agencies are listening and solving instead of simply serving, Daryl Lee of McCann Worldgroup reminded us all in a conversation with ADWEEK, Mischief @ No Fixed Address and FCB Global. 4. The execution of great ideas take a village. From Grand Prix winning work to experiences like Sport Beach, it's never just one person. Just as the best work takes the best partners, it also takes the best behind the scenes teams to bring it to life. Shoutout to all the comms teams, publicists, event staff and assistants who made this week magic for their teams. I'm looking at you, Maggie Garrison and Tonya Trejo. My two Queens. 5. Creativity truly comes from everywhere. The mix of perspectives at the festival is growing each year and it’s beautiful to see more voices beyond the C-Suite in the conversation. Let’s keep this going. PS, it was amazing to close out my week in Cannes by hosting Sport Beach with Ben Lyons. These are what little girl dreams are made of and what an honor it was to represent the Crispin team! I was so nervous when Beth Lester Sidhu first texted me about the opportunity but I could not say no. Thank you always to Beth and the Stagwell crew for giving me these opportunities. It's not always easy being a female CEO but you have always believed in me. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Innovation doesn’t happen without understanding. That’s how we learn. That’s how we live with excellence. It was amazing to spend a morning at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity with industry colleagues from FCB Global, Mischief @ No Fixed Address, McCann Worldgroup and ADWEEK to discuss challenges and solutions when it comes to building better agency and brand relationships. And it was a lot of fun, thanks Jameson Fleming, Tyler Turnbull, Daryl Lee and Kerry McKibbin. Stoked to be alongside you all working to leave this industry better than we found it. As always, it’s an honor to rep my Crispin dream team. Can’t talk about being on a panel without giving love to all the people that make magic for me and for our brand partners. 🤍🤍

I don’t always post because I find that words never give justice to my joy. But, I am feeling very lucky that I get to do what I do this week. Particularly, having the opportunity to chat with incredible humans like champion skier Mikaela Shiffrin and Mark Kirkham of PepsiCo on amplifying female stories in sport at Stagwell Sport Beach at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. A lot of smart things were said, but it really all comes down to…. being more human. “Remove the jargon,” said Mikaela. “I want to be a part of the creative process. And I want to understand it. The greatest gift we have as athletes is the ability to be able to be ourselves, just as a human beyond the athlete.” And that is absolutely beautiful. How human we all are. PS… also so lucky to be here with my Crispin dream team, Maggie Garrison and Steven Denekas. ❤️✨❤️✨❤️
