CPJ documented 99 journalists and media workers killed worldwide in 2023 — more than three quarters of whom died in the Israel-Gaza war. 72 alone were Palestinian journalists killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza. We’ve seen a consistent pattern of journalist killings in a few notable countries over decades. CPJ’s 2023 data shows that targeting of journalists remains constant in nations including Iraq, Philippines, Mexico, Pakistan, India, and Somalia. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eeyTzv4Y
