"I have been tasked with transitioning some of the department’s CAD drawings into Revit as well as teaching some of the planners my tips and tricks. "The Facilities Planning department is a close-knit group of people that I absolutely enjoy working with. Nicole here! Back for another post in my LinkedIn #InternTakeover! One thing you’ll learn about me is that I always carry around an iced coffee in my mushroom cup. But I also always have my COUNTRY water bottle nearby! Sometimes I like a change of scenery during my workday, and I grab a seat in a focus booth. I work in these booths when I’m focusing on presentation sets or when I don’t need to use the monitors at my workstation for software work. We're continuing our #InternTakeover! Hello, everyone! My name is Nicole Nevrly, and I am a Facilities Planning intern at COUNTRY Financial! I am excited to be able to talk about what a day in my life looks like. I came into COUNTRY’s Facility Planning department at such a fun, interesting time. The big project we’re working on is the One Campus project and with that, we have some new collaborative furniture pieces in our workspace. It’s a cool experience in general, but for me, I am familiar with most of these pieces because I have used them in my own studio projects. Getting to interact with them in real life is an exciting experience. On Saturday, June 22, COUNTRY participated in a community-wide #Juneteenth celebration hosted by the City of Bloomington, IL and the Bloomington-Normal Black History Project. Among entertainment, performances, vendors, and food trucks, COUNTRY staffed a booth at the job fair. “It was a privilege to be able to celebrate Juneteenth, represent COUNTRY, and live out the COUNTRY vision of enriching lives in the communities we serve—all at the same time,” said Lois She-Tom, FCAS. We were grateful to have Illinois State University Head Women’s Basketball Coach Kristen Gillespie visit with the COUNTRY underwriting leadership team recently. She shared valuable insights on what it takes to inspire a winning culture. “Get comfortable with the uncomfortable,” she advised. “Share the struggles of new tasks, but never lose sight of how important it is for leaders to embrace change.” We couldn’t agree more!

Today, as we commemorate Juneteenth, we reflect on the significance of this historic day. Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, marks the end of slavery in the United States. Today the COUNTRY Financial® DigitaLab hosted the corporate summer interns and recruiting team for #networking and #teambuilding activities at our University of Illinois Research Park office. The DigitaLab interns shared what they have been working on this summer from #agile release trains, #test automation, #code conversion, #CDP platform research, #cloud runners to #geospatial data smoothing. 👏 Additionally, everyone participated in an “Innovation Shark Tank Challenge”, which resulted in the teams producing some amazing products and pitches in just under an hour! The BEAUTY CROW took home first place - congrats Team 3🥇and thank you to the judges - Shelley Dexter, Dane Sorensen, Carey Moore, and Brandon Wheeler - for their insightful questions.
