Matt Schenkman recently joined us at CorCystems as the Director of Operations... here's a few questions to get to know him a bit better. 𝟭. 𝘾𝙖𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖 𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙤 𝙟𝙤𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢? I started in field services for Fujitsu, though I’ve been in an MSP from early in my IT career, and after nearly 12 years shaping services and growing a successful organization, I opted for the challenge of being the IT Director at FCP Euro and understanding the criticality of services from a very different employee and team perspective. I built an IT team, automated processes for our betterment, and legitimized what was once seen as a cost center as a value stream for the organization. After a few years, I met Eric and Tony, by way of my dear friend and colleague Chris Cummings, and we hit it off immediately. Eric stayed in touch and after a brief stint in Client Success, I joined CorCystems. I’ve been here for 6 months going on 6 years, and I couldn’t be happier! 𝟮. 🚨 Attention, Finance Professionals! 🚨 Did you know that nearly two-thirds of finance professionals have been targeted by deepfake fraud? 🕵️♂️ According to new research by Medius, 44% have actually fallen for these sophisticated scams. 😱 Deepfake technology is posing an existential crisis to business financial security, with 73% of respondents acknowledging the threat. Despite this, a staggering 80% admitted they would still make a payment if instructed by a senior figure like a CEO or CFO. 🤔 This is particularly alarming given that 70% of these professionals can authorize financial transactions without any checks. 📊 “Today’s CEOs and CFOs have large digital footprints... AI can now use existing online audio content to create fake audio that sounds just like business leaders," says Ahmed Fessi, Chief Transformation and Information Officer at Medius. Scammers are exploiting this to defraud businesses, and only 16% of professionals have made protecting against deepfakes a priority.
