Summer is once again upon us, and we all know what that means: extended periods of extreme heat for many parts of the country. And for workers whose jobs require them to spend time outside or in confined spaces with no air-conditioning, this extreme heat poses a real and significant threat to health and safety. In response to this yearly (and increasingly severe) threat, the Biden Administration has proposed new rules that, if finalized, "would establish the nation's first-ever federal safety standard addressing excessive heat in the workplace." Although they're still a long way from becoming enforceable regulations, it's likely that some version of the rules will ultimately be implemented, so it's worth employers taking a moment to review what would constitute a lengthy list of costly new obligations. A few weeks ago, nearly every CEB employee came together at UCLA for our first in-person Town Hall since 2020. It was a fun time to meet many of our colleagues who we've only ever seen on Zoom. Being a remote-first company is a major benefit to our employees, especially when it's accompanied by these special in-person events to solidify the bonds created virtually. If this sounds like a work environment you want to be a part of, check out our open positions: https://lnkd.in/g8wkjvBY #RemoteWork #CaliforniaLawyers #hiring
